Re: Towbar
G'day,
I am looking at getting that back step when I get my Exy in a few weeks.
Couple of questions, Does it work ok, ie not loose or wobbly when you stand on it? Also where do you get the locking pins? (DOH! Never mind the locking pin question as I read on in the thread ) And I lied, there are three questions... I notice you have them for sale through the group website. How much would it cost with shipping to Brisbane?
Ok, I'm done... Thanks for the help..
David

Re: Towbar
G'day David
I can tell you the rear step works a treat! Check out the pics HERE http://www.runboard.com/baustralianxtrail.f9.t126306%7Coffset=10
I like the versatility of the step - gives you easy access to the roof racks and also acts as a buffer from wayward shopping trolleys
If you're interested in buying the step, send Jalal an email via the Forum Shop and he will be in touch.

Re: Towbar
Sorry about that jalal,
I would have thought it was in the towing and recovery section not in exterior and interior section.
Thanks

Re: Towbar
I'm thinking about doing a scrounge around the wreckers one weekend to try and land a 2nd hand towbar to fit myself. Time shouldn't be an issue and from what I've read it doesn't sound too hard. Has anyone had any luck finding a 2nd hand towbar in/around Bris? Is this a good option?
Also, I got the following quote last week from Speedy Exhaust & Towbar:
$360 for a standard Towbar supplied fitted with ball and electrical connection incl. gst.
$520 for a heavy duty Towbar supplied fitted with ball and electrical connection incl. gst.
$225 for a standard Towbar supplied (non-fitted) incl. gst.
$350 for a heavy duty Towbar supplied )non-fitted) incl. gst.
ie. labour to fit is $135 std and $170 heavy duty
Std - 1200kg; heavy duty - 2000kg. I don't know what brand Speedy's use. These prices sound fairly reasonable to me, but I figured there was no harm putting them up to see if anyone knows where I can do better! I haven't yet done a great deal of research so feel free to point me in the right direction.
Did you end up buying one Dave? If so, where from and how much for? (if you dont mind me asking)
Thanks for the pending input!

Re: Towbar
John
There are a few genuine towbars on Ebay at the moment and I'm sure there was one from Brisbane going very cheaply.
