I spoke to a dealer today with regards to pricing a towbar for the T31. The sales department told me $690 (approx) fitted. I then spoke to the service dept who informed me that supply only (towbar & harness) will set me back $564, and then to add approx $200 for fitting. I was then put through to the parts dept to find out exactly how much approx $200 will be, only to be shunted back to the receptionist. 8(

Morale of the story - do your homework and get it in writing emoticon

$200 to have the T31 towbar (or any towbar) fitted is astronomical and far from being reasonable. $80-$100 is what any 4WD shop will charge you to fit a towbar.

Got another quote for (presumably) the same towbar kit from another dealer. Supply only $464.30 and an astronomical $1,054.90 supplied and fitted!!

I got the Nissan 2000kg unit installed before i picked up my T31 and it looks quite smart. It looks like there is a cutout in the rear bumper that the square thing sits in.

The dealer showed me an aftermarket towbar that was fitted by "another mob".. you could quite clearly see the weight distribution bar below the rear bumper, which looked ugly. The nissan one is hidden behind the rear bumper bar. I have to go back to the dealer on monday for something so if that car is still there ill take a pic of it, then a pic of mine.

*edit* just looked up the pricing for the towbar kit i got from Lakeside Nissan - $585 fitted which was cheaper than anywhere that i phoned around (and it was convenient to have it down before delivery)
