Re: how much are T31 towbars....?
I agree. When I saw the way the T31 genuine Nissan towbar is fitted I was happy to see that Nissan addressed the very poor installation design of this towbar in the T30, so I think the T31 guys won't have the chassis cracking problem like some of the T30 owners did.

For Sydney based members, the Online X-Trail Shop can obtain the Genuine Nissan towbar for the T31 at a price
You would only need to pay for the price of fitting the towbar (which is around $80 at any 4WD shop) or the better option would be to fit it yourself and save money
Hi Jalalski,
Could you reccomend any one in Sutherland to fit this towbar and also how long would it take to get one in stock??
Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Sutherland Shire Off-Road can fit it for you. I would have to check with Nissan regarding stock availability but even if they don't have it in stock here in Sydney, it'll take 2 days to get from their central warehouse in Melbourne.

Re: how much are T31 towbars....?
thanks for the info, Called through to SSOR and they quoted me ~$200 to fit it. Were quite happy to S&F aftermarket tow bar for $560 but seemed to take exception to being asked to fit a different Tow Bar....
I will check around Wollongong to see if I can get a cheaper install price and let you know if I require one.
Cheers any way for the info

did not mention I was a member of the Forum... will call them back and see what they will offer - have a local guy in Wollongong who will come to my house and install Genuine for $135 - He is alo going to get a price for me on Supply and fit of a genuine Bar. Will let you know what price he comes back with.

No worries mate, next time you call them speak to Tony (the owner) and say you're a member of the forum and referred to them by me.

Re: how much are T31 towbars....?
I paid $600 for the Nissan towbar from Magic Nissan in Perth, fitted before we pick the car up. Another dealer quoted us $900 for the same thing.
Landrover wanted $1800 for a towbar for a Freelander 2.... that's a little pricey, I think it may have been made of gold.
Cheers,
Chris.

Re: how much are T31 towbars....?
G'day all.
Went to the Brisbane Caravan & Camping Show yesterday (yes, another one) at the RNA. Spoke with the rep at the Hayman Reese stand and asked if they do a towbar for the T31 and how much fitted. They will come out to my place and fit one for $491 which I think is very reasonable (considering what Nissan have quoted me previously).
Before I book them in, I just wanted to know what questions I should ask to clarify that I am getting the right product for my exy. The model number given is R2465 (don't know if this means anything to anyone).
The questions I will ask (after re-reading this thread) are;
What comes with the assembly?
Is the towbar hidden fully by the rear bumper?
Do you need to cut any of the rear bumper to install?
What is the rating of the towbar?
Can anyone think of any other questions I should ask? Your assistance will help me sleep better at night

- Can the towbar ball & tongue be removed easily ?
(I usually leave mine off)
- Does the towball sit too high to block opening of the rear tailgate ?
(some members have expressed problems and have had to mount the tongue with "bend down")
