Re: how much are T31 towbars....? Samuel, if you have a Dremel its easy, just follow the shape of the cut out and then put some rubber strip around the outside to cover any jaggered edges.
If not use an angle grinder, (very slowly).
Or cut it out using a sharp knife or similar.
If you want to have a look at the cutout, PM me and you can come up for a sticky peek.
I will be home all weekend.
Re: how much are T31 towbars....? No dont have a Dremel, although I do have a 4" grinder!! Im thinking there is too much room for error with a grinder. Yes I thought about a knife, I guess I can see myself potentially ending up with a shorter finger or two!
I think a front of mine might have a Dremel, so might con him into giving me a hand to install it...or...are you offering?
Thanks for the PM Tony if I get some time ill give you a call.

it also says for trailer towing only. Does that mean you cant tow boats/caravans?
No - they would not be wanting the bar to be used for other things, such as recoveries (where large and unmeasurable forces are exerted, often unevenly as well)......
That is not saying that the towbar might be the best/strongest place to attach recovery gear to, just that the manufacturer is saying you can't use it for that.
