T 31 Front Recovery Point
Greetings..
This week, 7.4.09, I tried to have a more substantial front recovery point fitted to my 08 T31 St Manual X Trail.
I took it to Superior Engineering in Warner Qld.
They manufacture components for extreme offroad use as well as Strut spacers for X Trails.
Michael removed the front bumber and explored every way possible to manufacture and fit a recovery point to the same side as the existing screw in, Eye Bolt, as supplied by Nissan.
After extensive investigation, unfortunately it was not possible to improve upon the existing Eye Bolt system and they reassembled the vehicle.
I would have preferred to have an Eye Bolt on each side to spread the load , but that is not possible.
Well done to Michael and his crew at Superior Engineering for the effort

Did they say how effective the factory eye bolt will be or did they give you any idea of how strong the eye bolt will be in a recovery situation?
