To each his own - I'm not an "environmentalist" and therefore won't comment on the growth life of your tree.

Re: *NEWS FLASH** Nissan X-Trail ST-S Limited Edition (Australia)**

Interesting news!

As I am waiting on my first quote this info is very very handy. I think I've worked out Nissans plan though. I bet you the Melbourne Motor Show (starting on the 9th Feb) will be where they anounce/show the new ST-S and Ti's.
That's my theory.

And Tim, thanks for your price info. I was thinking 2yr old, but as they are $25-27K the new price should be very competitive. I'll just have to see what comes in.

I must say I am not too sure if I want the ST-S though. Hopefully it means I can get an extra special price on a current ST and buy the alloys on eBay! More power and cheaper just no sunroof (wont tell the wife, tho).

I was at the Melbourne Motor Show today emoticon

Some nice cars

The X-Trail brochure features the new specs.
The Nissan guy basically said there was no new model and didn't mention the new ST-S.
Here's a copy of the new features.

Thanks Jonno,

The ST-S is actually mentioned in that brochure you posted if you look closely under the photos of the interior emoticon

The nissan guy should have read the brochure he was giving out to potential customers a bit better.

The forum news flash has now been confirmed LOL

Re: *NEWS FLASH** Nissan X-Trail ST-S Limited Edition (Australia)**

Well guys, I was driving home today from work and as I got closer to home and the last set of lights where Nissan McGrath (Sydney)is and a tray-truck (is that what its called) stopped right beside me with a brand new exy was on it.

First I thought, someone is getting a delivery of a brand new exy (lucky them emoticon ) then the colour of the exy got my attention, it was "Slate Grey" the new colour code of the ST-S, so am sitting there at the lights next to this truck and was about to leave my car altogether to have a look, it was then when something else caught my attention!

I saw the second catalytic converter right there in the middle of the under-carriage staring at me and I thought, here is the proof of the new restrictive exhaust system with TWO cat. converters.

Everything else from the outside looked the same as the standard series II.

I got a nice smile from the truck driver and then I pressed that accelerator and disappeared with my series I "power" LOL emoticon

Any ideas if it is just the extra cat. converter that causes this or is it more complicated than just that?

It is the extra cat indeed. The engine is exactly the same as the rest, so it has the potential of full power with a less restrictive exhaust system.
