Re: Fuel Filler Tube Rust Recall

Received my letter today. It only gives information about my vehicle, not the range of vin numbers affected etc. For further inquiries it says ring Nissan Customer Relations Department on 03 9797 4111

Re: Fuel Filler Tube Rust Recall

Hey guys;

Uni exams coming up...hence the delay in reply...

VIN: JN1TBNT30A0030xxx

Our VIN is around this, i assume that x-trails with similar VIN's would be affected.

Re: Fuel Filler Tube Rust Recall

Hi guys,

Received my letter yesterday too.

I know the recall has only just started but if anyone who has already got theirs done then could you let us know how long does this normally take from the time you hand the Exy in? With a new born at home I don't have the luxury to dedicate a whole day for this.
I would imagine the influx of X-Trails heading to the dealerships would cause heavy delays so I hope Nissan have got some swift plans.

cheers
Vik - Melb

That's very helpful, I will probabely not rush to the dealer myself just at this stage.

I got my letter today as well.

In it they said to bring the car with 1/2 tank full to the dealer.

They also mentioned something about removing all the chrome before they can accept it, as it could cause reflection blindness to the mechanics. hehehehehe

Hi Guys,

As posted by John (Dunoon) in another thread, the recall information has now been posted on the Product Recalls Australia site and now showing the affected VIN Range.

Re: Fuel Filler Tube Rust Recall

I am surprised with the period of vehicles being recalled. Normally only one edition, or small production time frame are recalled, but it appears right across the board. Mine fits within this VIN range and is a June 2003 Series 1 and Daves is a October 2005 Series II.

Guess Nissan attempted to save money and keep using the old parts. I wonder if I will find any parts from my Mother-In-Laws 1984 Nissan Pulsar in the exee anywhere. emoticon
