So if they both have the same 2lt diesel engine, what will make the difference between the 110kW+320Nm version and the 125kW+360Nm version ?

Re: Diesel X-Trail confirmed for July 2008

Hi,
Can I just through in soom comments,
1. This is more a Renault engine (M9R) than a Nissan development even though its come from the Alliance.
2. You better make sure you can always get Very low sulphur diesel fuel.
3. This is a very complex engine. It has a variable nozzle turbo, particle trap with somesort of regen, a bosch fuel system that has piezo electric injectors which have a pre-squirt, a mid squirt and post squirt from the 1600bar common rail.
4. The price of diesel in Australia will continue to increase relative to unleaded because:
a. All diesel is imported whereas we still have some local unleaded.
b. The oil companies are realising the cost of low sulphur diesel is higher than they first told the gov.
c. Diesel has to go to even lower sulphur soon by law unless Gov changes regs.
I'm interested in changing to an oil burner but will wait to see how early ones go before changing over.
