 Membership Levels and Structure
Dear Members of the Australian X-Trail Forum,
Our forum has been running since 2004 and offering you and many other X-Trail owners worldwide a fantastic source of information, guidance and help to make your ownership of the great Nissan X-Trail enjoyable for the many years of driving.
This service has been offered to you FREE OF CHARGE and unlike other clubs and associations, we do NOT charge Ongoing Membership Fees!
We would like it to remain this way and the same time, we would also like to have our members support our forum financially if they so choose, such financial support will help the Administrators with the running costs associated with running this forum and at the same time unlocking access to great deals and discounts which can benefit you directly.
These funds are also used to organize raffles, contribute to organized forum events and outings…etc, so in essence some of these funds would eventually find its way back to you or your fellow member in one form or another.
For us to sustain this level of service it has become necessary to introduce a 3-tier membership structure within the forum as follows:
1. Regular Membership: This type of membership will allow you to view, post questions and replies in all sections of the forum, EXCEPT the Forum Classifieds & Forum Discounts and Members Rides sections. You will need the Full Membership to gain access to this section.
2. Casual Membership: This type of membership is designed for someone wanting to join the forum for a very brief time to make use of the “For Sale” and “Wanted to Buy” sections of the forum to off-load an X-Trail related part or accessory for one reason or another (example: they have sold their Xtrail and no longer have use of these parts and accessories). If you don’t want the advantages and costs associated with the Full Membership and rather pay a small fee to be able to advertise in the For Sale section of the forum, then this is the type membership for you. (see below)
3. Full Membership: This type of membership will give unrestricted read and write access to ALL sections of the forum and the benefit of viewing the Discounts & Classifieds section of the forum to score great deals, discount offers and be part of organized Group-Buys for parts, accessories and other X-Trail and car related items. The only area this type of membership will not be able to access, is the Admin Forum section which is locked for Admin use.
All members wishing to have the Full Membership status assigned to their username to gain unrestricted access to the Forum which includes the Classifieds & Discounts section of the forum will be required to support our forum and make a one-off purchase from the following Full Membership Packs
We will NOT be pressuring you to make any further donations while you are a member of our forum and this is not the way we would operate.
This purchase is a one-off and will not be requested again, unless you personally request additional forum stickers for your own use and enjoyment.
The Full Membership Pack options as follows:
Membership Pack Choice #1:
A pack of 2 bumper stickers which include the oval shape forum sticker and the transparent cut out sticker URL. (as seen below)
The sticker is 120mm x 100mm. Printed in self adhesive vinyl of high standard using four colour digital print (high resolution) onto white polycal vinyl overlaminated with clear vinyl and contour cut.
The sticker is 235mm x 108mm. Printed in self adhesive vinyl of high standard using four colour digital print (high resolution) onto white polycal vinyl overlaminated with clear vinyl and contour cut.
The Cost of Membership Pack #1 is $25.00 (including postage within Australia)
Membership Pack Choice #2:
TWO Stickers.
The sticker is 221mm x 98mm. Printed in self adhesive vinyl of high standard using cut out letters with transparent background.
The Cost of Membership Pack #2 is $25.00 (including postage within Australia)
Membership Pack Choice #3:
A choice of one forum hat as shown below:

Membership Pack Choice #5:
A set of 2 Car Flags (left and right) displaying a digitally printed logo of the Australian X-Trail Forum in vibrant colours and supplied with flag poles that clip-on to your windows.
The Cost of Membership Pack #5 is $28.50 (including postage within Australia)
Membership Pack Choice #6:
A set of 2 embroided cloth badges featuring the Australian X-Trail Forum logo. Iron on or sew-on and feature a great level of craftsmanship and detail (shirts are for display purposes only)
The Cost of Membership Pack #6 is $22.00 (including postage within Australia)

The above Membership Pack Choices will be made available to you when you fill in a Full Membership Request while trying to access the Forum Discounts & Classifieds section. The following membership prompt will appear on your screen which you will need to action to gain Full Membership:
Choose your membership pack (from the list above) and send an email to us with your postal address so we know where to send the membership pack, email to:mailto: admin@australianxtrail.com.au and don't forget to always include your Forum Username and Member ID when you communicate with us.
Your Full Membership and access to this forum section will be approved as soon as your payment is received and we will post your membership pack at the same time.
Finally, there is a THIRD membership type which specifically relates to the “For Sale” and “Wanted to Buy” sections of our forum, it is called Casual Membership. Casual Members wanting to take advantage of the “For Sale” and “Wanted to Buy” sections of the forum will be asked to pay $5.00 fee to gain access to these two forum sections.
Please follow the membership application process outlined above.
Note to Existing Members of the Australian X-Trail Forum:
This new Membership Structure will apply to all members who joined on or after the 1st of November, 2007
The Forum Classifieds & Discounts members list will now be cleared from all usernames appearing in it to enforce this membership rule, but as an existing member and if you joined the forum BEFORE 01.11.2007 your username will be approved on the spot as soon as you submit the membership application above. No fees or membership packs will be necessary.
We do however hope that all existing members take note of our need for your support and financial contribution and there is no better way to show this type of support than purchasing the forum promotional items (stickers, hats and caps) which will help us financially and give you something nice in return.

The following changes to the forum sections have been made:
For Sale Forum Section: This forum section has now been set as "Read-Only" to all members of the forum. Full Membership is required to gain "Write Access" and the ability to post a classified advert in this forum section, OR a $5.00 listing fee for Casual Members not wanting to buy the Full Membership Pack. Existing members who have joined the forum BEFORE 1.11.2007 will be granted Full Membership automatically when they submit the application form online.
Wanted to Buy Section: This forum section has now been set as "Read-Only" to all members of the forum. Full Membership is required to gain "Write Access" and the ability to post a classified advert in this forum section, OR a $5.00 listing fee for Casual Members not wanting to buy the Full Membership Pack. Existing members who have joined the forum BEFORE 1.11.2007 will be granted Full Membership automatically when they submit the application form online.
Forum Discount Offers: This forum section has been blocked from view (both read and write access) to all members of the forum. Full Membership is required to gain Read and Write access to view the available Discounts. Existing members who have joined the forum BEFORE 1.11.2007 will be granted Full Membership automatically when they submit the application form online.

Group-Buys Section:: This forum section has now been set as "Read-Only" to all members of the forum. Full Membership is required to gain "Write Access" and the ability to participate in an active Group-Buy and enjoy the savings of such an activity. Existing members who have joined the forum BEFORE 1.11.2007 will be granted Full Membership automatically when they submit the application form online.
Members Rides Section: This forum section has now been set as "Read-Only" to all members of the forum. Full Membership is required to gain "Write Access" and the ability to start a new thread showing off your ride and the modifications done to it. Existing members who have joined the forum BEFORE 1.11.2007 will be granted Full Membership automatically when they submit the application form online.
Members Discussion Lounge Forum: This forum section is reserved for Full Members only!. Full Membership is required to gain "Write Access" and "Read Access" to this forum and be part of a discussion. Existing members who have joined the forum BEFORE 1.11.2007 will be granted Full Membership automatically when they submit the application form online.
Admin Forum Section: This forum section is blocked to ALL members of the forum. No exceptions and it is reserved for members of the Admin Team only!
ALL other forum sections are open (read and write) to all membership levels.

Dear Members,
This is just a clarification post to save unnecessary frustration and confusion.
As a result of the new membership structure introduction, each of the above affected forums had the entire members list reset to ZERO Access. This means that ALL members (existing and new) are required to submit a membership application to each of the affected forums mentioned above.
You will only need to do this ONCE for each of the forum sections above, so to save yourself time and effort, I advise all existing members who have joined the forum BEFORE 1/11/07 to submit their membership applications for these forum sections in one go, so your username gets added to the correct type of access to these forums.
New members who joined ON or AFTER 1/11/07 would need to read the membership guidelines above to make a decision before submitting their membership application.
THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO THE REST OF THE FORUM WHERE NOTHING HAS CHANGED!

Dear Members,
The existing Members List has been updated to reflect your membership level.
This list will be updated ongoing should any of the members who joined on or after the 1st of November, 2007 decide to take the Full Membership.
By default, all members who joined before 1/11/07 are listed as "Full Members" and all members who joined after this date are listed as "Regular Members" unless they have already purchased the full membership pack.
