New Forum Registration Process (for new members)
Dear Members,
As a result of the recent incident, I have decided to implement new protection measures as part of the registration process to our forum.
New users will now be required to submit further details as part of the registration process as explained HERE and also clearly agree to abide by the Australian X-Trail Forum rules we have clearly spelled-out.
As with the previous set-up of our forum, all forum sections are locked for (write access) to all new users and the only section that is open is the Introductions Section of our forum.
New users will now be required to fill-in an application form providing details as stated below and this form will be sent to the Admin Team for review and validation.
Any application form submitted and does not include these details will be rejected on the spot.
This does NOT affect any of the existing forum members.

Re: New Forum Registration Process (for new members)
Hi Guys,
Due to new registration requirements being set for the introductions section of the forum, I have noticed that existing members wishing to make a post in the intro. section are also being asked to fill-in the application form above, so you can ignore filling-in the details and just submit the application and I'll approve it on the spot.
This is important for those members currently doing the welcomes.

Re: New Forum Registration Process (for new members)
Excellent idea Jalalski. I cant see any genuine contributors having any issues with this process and it will assist greatly in maintaining a friendly, constructive forum.

Re: New Forum Registration Process (for new members)
Now that this form will be used, I am also thinking of applying the same process to the Events & Meet-ups section, so we could do away with the existing rule that requires the announcement of off-road trips before they can actually take place.
A clear undertaking and agreement with the forum rules (which covers off-roading) and supplying your details in the form will be enough for me to scrap the above rule all-together.

Guys,
The surprised questions am getting from existing members wishing to make a post in the introductions area of the forum asking how come they can't post in there, especially after I made the above announcement and explained what happened, suggests to me that many members are not viewing or reading the announcements we make on the forum to understand what is happening.
I clearly said that by implementing the new registration process, it has affected all members, especially those who were doing the welcomes and all they need to do is submit the access application (blank) and it will be approved on the spot. New members however will be requested to fill-in the application form as requested above.
The announcement section of the forum is an important section which you need to view and read regularly to keep-up with the changes happening in the forum.

Perhaps you need to copy your entire last post above in the next Forum Newsletter email, for the lazy regulars that tend to ignore the announcements section

I reckon they're lazy enough to subscribe to the newsletter as well, so what's the point? LOL
