Engagement
Last night Black Thunda (Jamie) asked Pikachu (Vicky) to marry him.
I took her out for a lovely 3 course dinner, coctail, champagne and wine at the same restaurant that we had our first date 2.1/2 years ago. A stroke of luck (or good planning on my part), we had the exact same table and seats as that night as well.
At the end of the meal, I organised for a plate to be brought out with 'Will You Marry Me' written on it in chocolate sauce and dusted with icing sugar.
She looked at it and started crying. After a minute or so I thought she started looking a little pale so I asked her 'are you alright'? She said No, 'I think I'm going to be sick'
After another minute or so of crying I pulled the ring box out of my pocket and placed it on the table for her and said 'I need an answer so I can open the box'. Five minutes of crying later..............
She said YES
Who said romance is dead, hehehehe.

Re: Engagement
Never got to meet Vicki when we were up there at Chrissy Jamie, but it seems she'll still be around for us to meet when we next get back again.
Congratulations from Revhead, Mrs Revhead and young Revhead.

Re: Engagement
Congratulations jamie & Vicky!
For a brief moment there I thought you were going to say "yes" to the waiter that brought out the plate
No doubt your friends and family have been nagging you about when you're going to propose. Next will will be the nagging about when you're getting married, then nagging about when you're going to have kids... It never ends (although I can't think of what comes after "having kids" - perhaps "retirement"?)

I'm afraid this group buy will probably cost me an 'engagement' ring
You weren't lying when you made this comment in the TBS thread. LOL
Now you have to go through all the fun of planning a wedding. Just beware of the bridal expo's, they can be very dangerous places. Avoid them at all costs!!!!
Congrats

Re: Engagement
Thank you one and all, it has been a full day of thanking people for their congratulations and lots of hand shaking.
Rich, no children for us, Vicky has a son and I have two kids, I'm a second timer. In terms of nagging, no one nagged as no one expected us to do it so I personally have shocked a lot of people. What next, well, we've both sold our investment places so we can buy a house together and only have a small mortgage. Vicky already works part time and I am looking at scaling down my work hours to 4 days a week for the next 5 years and then retire early at 50. It may end up being a pipe dream, but we'll try. I may have to get a small casual job though just so I can keep up with the mods on the new 2012 Xtrail I hope to buy when I retire though.
Dan, I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that post hehehe I was going to have a jibe at Kev something like, 'see what you've done Kev with your nagging to get in on the group buy for the TBS' but I'm too much of a gentlemen to pull a trick like that.
Oh, by the way Kev, 'see what you've done Kev with your nagging to get in on the group buy for the TBS' - gentleman, smentleman
Seriously, thanks again guys from both Vicky and me, you're a really great bunch of people! So glad I found this forum.
