Hi Tony/Xtrailers, I got the bumper off, bit fiddly but got it done (broke my cheap bendy screwdriver in the process ha-ha) - but I’m a bit unsure of fixing points for the mesh. I have some self tapping screws but if I cut the mesh to fit with say 1 inch overlay, then wont the screws be visible once the bumper is back on? Im confussed on best way to attach mesh to bumper.
Hope this makes sense been out for a birthday dinner and had a few drinks and as it stands the xtrail is in more pieces then Bec would like haha
Any advice would be great.

Hi Joel
I attatched it to the horizontal black bar that runs across thewidth of the Xy, yhe bumper they call it.
Its about 70mm wide by roughly 30mm across, about 2/3rds down the radiator.
I used 4X self tapping screws into this bar.
Thats it, the mesh just hung down and when the bumper goes back on, it will pin the mesh to the body on the bottom making it firm enough to stop it moving.
The bumper was a little tricky to get off and to get on too, its just that screw up under the front of the tyres that is the bugger.
But with patience, you'll get there.
Post a pic when your done, love to see the result.

Ahh thanks Tony I was looking at just the bumper, not the front of the xy. will take some pics and post later cheers mate

Its on and looks fantastic! Ty heaps Tony, I have really enjoyed doing this mod. I have found there are some definate tricks to the adventure model (or any model with a nudge bar I guess) as the fixing points go through both top and bottom openings on either side! This of course I realised (so mechanically minded) once I had siliconed the entire top row and was trying to put the bumper back on even my neighbour was having a laugh at me at this point as I think he heard my expressions from over the fence.
But by using the tin snips to open it up and slide it through and some cable ties to secure the loose sides its on, its secure and Im really happy Ive done it myself.
This is the first mod I have done on any car and can thus confirm anyone could do it.

Awesome job Joel, well done.
It is a bit if fiddling around but you must agree the end result looks fantastic.
You will find that your Exy gets a lot of looks everytime you walk past the front of the car from now on.
I had to take the bumper off my Exy recently to fit an ECB nudge bar and like you had to snip the two top outer bits for the brackets to slip through.
