Re: T31 extra brake/tail lights

Guys
In regard to water entering the holes, I rammed the hose into the gap between the body and the light to see if any water entered the light and not a drop.
It may have something to do with the bayonet sitting in a downward position, after all, its hard for water to go up.
I guess whatever you use is more of a piece of mind issue.

I've had these globes in for a while now and they are still in their holes.
They haven't vibrated out on a number of different road surfaces, including corrigated roads.

Re: T31 extra brake/tail lights

Heya Tony,

Whoops with the excitement of xmas i forgot all about it. Im scanning ebay now for some globes and holders. While im at it i might grab some LED indicator globes. Do you know if the indicator globe is clear or amber in the T31? Wife has the car so i cant check.

Cheers,

Dronus

Dronus
The globes are clear in the turn lens.
A general rule is that if the lens is coloured, then the globe is clear. If the lens is clear, then the globe will be couloured.
As to buying the stuff from ebay, why don't you get the holders as I did from the shop and fit it all in, then search ebay for the LED globes at a latter date.

I got them from an auto shop called Bursons here , not too sure if they are in Adelaide.

If you get the part no. from the packet in the 1st photo, you can order them through anyone that stocks Narva products.

Hi Dronus

How has the mod gone - if it is worthwhile I will do it.

Be interested in the uniformity of the lights - ie either all filament or all LED.

*Edit* you need to turn your head sideways to look at the pics, im posting from my phone and have no edit function (unless one of the admins can rotate the pics?)

Ok, i went to put the LED globes in to replace the factory ones, but it turns out i have bought the wrong ones!!!

Here is a picture of the back of the T31 Diesel tail light assembly. Note the funky looking connectors at the top, possibly for a factory second light fitting??
Does everyone elses T31 have thes slots at the top? There is a big one, and a little one that has a dust cover on it..

Removing the lens requires a 10mm socket, extension bar and a socket wrench. it pulls out of the clips rather easy.

Image

Here is a picture of the bottom half of the lens.

Image

Here is how the wiring comes out of the body.

Image

Here is the original globe, in its holder

Image

This is the holder with the globe removed.

Image

Here is the globe.

Image

And here are the globes i bought on ebay. I guess they can be used in the second holder, but i would prefer if all the globes were the same. I might put them in the wifes car, or something...

Image

Ill keep looking for wedge type LED globes...

I found Wedge Type LED lights on brightlightautoparts.com (the same place i got the others).
Ill order some and see how they go. They are 18LED White.
