T30 X-Trail Locking Beep Mod

Hi Guys,

An xtrailer from Canada (Gerard) whom I've been communicating with by email for quite some time, has sent me a very helpful DIY Guide and asked me to share it with you on our forum.

It is the locking beep signal which one can get when locking or unlocking the exy which I believe some owners find useful.

The DIY Guide can be found HERE

Thanks Gerard.

Thats a good idea.
You probably could do this to any door that has a remote locking feature.

On page 4 it looks like hes got acar alarm siren strapped to the tailgate, your sure to hear the beep with that on. emoticon

Yes Tony, I think it can be done on any xtrail. He actually used one of those reversing beepers.

Re: T30 X-Trail Locking Beep Mod

That's a great simple and cheap mod anyone could do!

It is probably also a better deterrent than a flashing light on the dash to would-be thieves, but only if they're within ear-shot when you lock the car emoticon

I am sure I have a couple of those sirens spare from my previous car alarms...

I'm sure Jalal will find an excuse to put another accessory on his Black Beauty (chrome spray-painted, of course).

Re: T30 X-Trail Locking Beep Mod

I've got a manual mod similiar to this one where once I've pressed the Lock button, on the keyfob, when walking away from the Exy I make a "Coop Coop" noise quite loudly.
Sometimes I make a "Coop" noise when I unlock it but only when there's people around. If no one was around I tend to save energy and not bother about either noise. Always keeping green for the environment emoticon

Rich - Jalal might just add a chrome train horn to the roof..... just search youtube for this if you haven't already seen a million videos of it emoticon emoticon

Or distant 2nd place, a chrome Stebel horn.

I've got one of them on my motorbike.
Makes the pedestrians really look carefully; before they jump out in front of me.
And the car drivers too, before they try to dive into my traffic lane.
Saves me hearing; "Sorry mate, I didnt see you!"
