Re: Forum Enhancements & Suggestions

Hi Julie,

The first time you open a webpage using Explorer (or any browser for that matter) will be slow as every image and page information will get cached for the first time, this will not happen when you open the page the second and third time and from there on, it will load much faster, as all of the images would already be cached in the browser's memory and it won't need to validate them again. You can't do much about the dial-up speed.

Firefox has a weird thing even displaying colours naturally, it adds some sort of 3 dimensional feel and effect to them from its side and changes the colours for some reason.

Hey Jalal, after checking out the new home page I happened to cruise through the trip report section. Great effect with the music in the background.

What's the chances of you updating the QLD section with some of the latest pics from your trip up here?

Also, I had a thought that maybe you could see some of the O/S guys and see if they have any pics . Maybe you could put together an International photo shoot section like the state ones you have up there. emoticon

The overseas guys are a bit shy with their profile photos, but a great suggestion and I'll put it forward to them and see what happens.

Please note that you click on any photo in the Image Gallery to view it in full size.

Re: Forum Enhancements & Suggestions

Just noticed tonight that all the little blue borders around buttons etc are now gone. (using Firefox)
Has anything changed recently on the setup of the forum or is this perhaps due to a Firefox upgrade?

Re: Forum Enhancements & Suggestions

Hi Dave,

I have found a way to remove these borders for all images, so that using any borwser won't create problems and the forum layout will look nicer. This was based on the previous feedback I have received from Tim in which he mentioned these annoying image borders when viewing with Firefox.

Another change I have implemented is the board link where it used to have a text link saying "Australian X-Trail Forum" this has now been swapped with an image link, so you can click on it to go back to main forum view.

I kinda miss my little blue borders emoticon

It does look cleaner though & the image link is great instead of the text link.

Say that again and I'll shoot ya. hahahahaha emoticon

I have just deployed the new look control buttons found at the top of each page. They were a bit too white and hard to spot.

Re: Forum Enhancements & Suggestions

The layout of the buttons under the avatars looked cluttered on my browser too, but I didn't bother mentioning anything sooner as I just assumed it would be something caused by my very out-dated Amiga browser.

Go on Jalal, have a stir! emoticon
