A humble suggestion

I don't know if this is a viable suggestion or not but I was thinking of this:

Do away with the T31 Petrol and T31 Diesel sections at the bottom of the forums and instead have separate subsections within existing forum topics, eg under "Engine Mechanical" have a T30 section and then a separate T31 section subdivided into "Petrol" and "Diesel".

General Discussion could stay as is since it is general in nature. My thinking behind this is that particularly as there are more and more T31 members ( hopefully me too, soon ) it will make info easier to organise and find.

For example if I have a problem with the transmission on my new T31 rather than go to the T31 section as it is now, which doesn't have discrete sections, I could go to "4WD System and Transmission" then navigate to the T31 section. That way all general 4WD and transmission info is under the general heading of 4WD System and Transmission for all series rather than possibly some stuff being in seperate T31 area as it exists now.

Jalal I hope my thoughts are explained clearly and I am being in no way critical of the forum as it currently is, in fact the fact this forum exists is actually a very real consideration in my purchase decision and I do intend becoming a full member once I have bought a shiny new T31.

Glenn.

PS Since I have no knowledge of the technical aspects of running a forum my idea might be a total load of rubbish, in which case I apologise.

Re: A humble suggestion

Thanks for your suggestions Glenn,

One of the limitations of the Runboard hosting service where our forum is currently hosted, is that we can't have sub-forum or sub-sections in any of the existing forum sections, that is the reason I created two new forum sections for the T31 diesel and petrol but at the same time I asked all T31 owners to keep using the existing forum sections to post problems or issues with the T31. These two forum section have been created as "cover pages" to advertise the fact that we do discuss T31 diesel and petrol matter on our forum and to post reviews about them.

For example and if you have a transmission question about the T31, you would go to the "4WD System & Transmission" to either post a new topic titled T31 transmission or search for an already created topic which starts with "T31 transmission" or "T31 4x4 system". All other existing topics covering the T30 transmission and 4x4 will already be there without the T31 in the heading.

This is the only way we can separate content between the T30 and T31 at the moment, until Runboard eventually introduce the sub-forum feature which will be very handy to have.

In any case, the site search feature is the most important one to depend on, as it will direct you to the required thread in the corresponding forum section in all cases, so it should be your first point of reference to find and locate any existing topic.
