Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

My fuel gauge is reading 2 bars low at the moment. 8(
I'm really going to hammer the dealer next service.
The last 2 services I have asked them to fill the tank up and see for themselves, all they say is, "scangauge shows no errors". They also blamed it on the split tank.

It has to be a sender issue cause I am still getting close to 700k's/ tank.

If everybody mentions this frustrating problem at their next service, they will have to do something about it for sure.

I feel better now.

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

Yes I believe that there is a fault with the fuel sensors on the fuel tank. On our 2008 T31 ST we will fill up the tank but the gauge will still read that there is some fuel missing. Should be repaired under warranty when car is taken back to Nissan for a service. Removal of the tank may be required.

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

Mine is working fine, I guess. But I've notice the first bar drops quite quickly after every fill up. If there will be a 2 bars missing after fill up later on, I will contact my local nissan service for reparing. I miss the needles for fuel guage and temperature guage 8( . Never been a fan of digital guages

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

Mine worked fine as well when it was brand new, just before it was 12 months old the fuel gauge started going wrong.
I think it started before the 20k mark.

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

Just had my 10k service done, mentioned the fuel gauge problem.

When I picked up my car they said there have been reports of the problem and they ordered two new fuel sensors for me, which is good news, no having to argue with them, they said they could not tell which sensor was at fault hence getting two new ones.

Now just have to wait for them to arrive.

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

Just picked up my car after having the fuel sensors replaced, all appears to be working, just hope the smell of petrol doesn't last too long.

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

Had my 20k service last week and mentioned the fact that the Fuel Guage was not reading full when the tank was filled. They said they did not know anyhting about the "supposed Problem and had no internal memo's". They did say they would investigate and let me know.

Picked the car up - smelled really bad of petrol. When asked what they found, I was told that the Senders were removed, checked and no fault found. Replaced and checked manually and showing OK.

I filled the car up and presto - Guage is reading full. Have not had a chance to fill again but seems strange that by just removing and checking theyare able to fix the problem???
