Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

There is another large access hole under the rear L/H passenger seat as well making an access hole on both sides.
have a look at the T31 ESM. (I tried to copy the EsM page but don't know how to do it)

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

You're right Tony, there are 2 access points on each sidde under the seats, so I have no idea what would they need to remove the fuel tank and it'll be a good question to ask them.

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

Well the Xy goes in yet again to the dealer tomorrow morning to get the fuel sensors replaced.
I will talk to them to see why they have to remove the tank, pointless in my opinion, and point out the 2 access holes under the rear seats.
Funny, no text message this time.

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

Got a whole new sender put in the Exy this morning, it took them 2 hours can you believe it.
Filled up and guess what, the gauge still reads one bar less than full, it used to read 2 bars less before. I suppose its some improvement.
Got home a re-topped the tank and still 1 bar less.

I will fill the Xy up again next time its low and if it reads the same, guess who I'll be calling.

I am starting to think that it may be a design flaw with the tank.

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

Tony,

Did you ask them if they changed one or two sender units?

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

I am sure that there is only one sender unit in the T31.

I was talking to Rebecca from NMG (first name basis now) and she said that the mechanic told her that because of the split tank the sender takes an average of how much fuel is in both sides, how it does that has got me buggered.
Also if the car is on an angle the tank can't fill up to full.
This is why I think the tank has a design flaw, if it had 2 senders, then the problem would be non existant.

I asked if the ECU needs to be reset and they say it doesn't need to.
He did say to come in to do the reset on their computer and was a little shocked to hear that I can do it without one, he he.

I did tell her that its still not reading right just to let her know and also said that I will give it a couple more tank fulls before I call her back.

There are 2 Tony, the main unit with pump and filter plus a sub-unit with sender only.

That is correct Kev and that was the reason I asked you Tony, because that second sensor can be accessed from the rear right passenger side under the seat, as you told me yourself.

Re: Problem When filling up fuel tank

Thanks guys I thought there was only one.
I think they only changed the one on the drivers side cause they were only working on that side of the car.
I haven't got the paperwork cause I was in a hurry to get to work. Rebecca said that she would mail it out to me.
As soon as I get it I will see what it says and report back.
