Re: T31 Cruise control issues
My cruise works fine too except if I go over a sudden bump it will cut out, maybe its a safety feature so if ya go off the road it will cut out instead of keep going.
Best cruise I have ever had for a 4 banger.

Re: T31 Cruise control issues
Is there a way of temporarily disengaging the criuse control apart from tapping the brake.

Re: T31 Cruise control issues
Most cruise controls have a CANCEL button such as what I have on my T30.

Re: T31 Cruise control issues
I am experiencing the same problems as mentioned here. I just thought it was the cruise fighting a bit with the CVT because when I locked in a gear I seem to get a better response however I will mention it next time I put it in for a service because the T30 cruise did seem to work a lot better.

Re: T31 Cruise control issues
I've also noticed that the cruise control is a lot better in manual mode. It's a lot easier to hold a constant speed on the freeway if you use it in manual mode rather than auto.
When in auto at freeway speeds it's only doing about 2k rpm and if you hit a hill the revs are too low to hold speed. It will drop by 5-10Km/hr depending on how steep the hill is before the cruise control decides it's got to do something. It will then often increase revs up to 4k or more to accelerate, taking you past your chosen speed and then cut rev's because it's going to fast. If it's a long hill you'll then drop under your chosen speed and the whole process starts again.
In manual mode cruising in 6th it is running at slightly higher rev's than it would be in auto so it seems to get up small hills without losing as much speed. On a steeper hill if you drop it into 5th (or 4th for a steep hill) at the bottom of the hill the higher rev's allow it hold the speed better. Means it's not quite a hands free cruise control but it's far better than watching the big truck in the rear view mirror get closer and closer as you lose revs and speed at the bottom of every hill.

Re: T31 Cruise control issues
Hi;
My Exy has a perfect cruise control. I set it on 80kph with my small caravan in tow and it does just that up and down small hills and the flats; within 3kph.

Re: T31 Cruise control issues
The Cruise control works fine on my t31 for me . It will slow down on some up hill runs and speed up on some down hill runs . It seems to be good on the majority of roads I use htough, It will hold a constant speed on motorways doing 110 k/h on the flat and I have noticed the revs rise to just over 4000 on an up hill run keeping the speed close enough to 110k/h.
The other thing I have noticed which feels weird is that if you are behind another car at a constant gap and speed and change lanes the car seems to slow a little , then if you move back in behind the same car it will increase in speed a little . It sounds like slip streaming having and effect . Like I said weird ! Its an exy on the road , not a race car on the track ! Any ideas ???????????????????

Re: T31 Cruise control issues
You got it, slipstreaming.
When you pull out to overtake the wind hits the front of your Xy and slows it down slightly.
Happens to race cars too.
