rheostat for dimming instrument panel

Hello all:

Greetings from South America. I have T31 petrol, manual (Ill post a pic at some point) and love my machine. Outstanding vehicle.

But I am curious if the version here in Colombia has the same quirks yours in Australia have.

I cannot, for example, dim down the lights in my instrument panel. I went to the dealer and tried it another, identical car, and couldn't either . Hmmm. Why wouldn't one be able to do sometying as basic as that?

I have been frustrated by the absence of cool equipment for the cars sold here in Colombia. No screen, bluetooth, GPS, rear view camera. Grrr.

This is not to sound offensive but have you been turning the right knob.
Its a bit hard to believe that there is no dimmer.
On my Xy its the R/H knob on the instrument panel,(it has a picture of a dial on it) under the speedo, turn it to the left.
Give it a go and let us know how it pans out. emoticon

No offense at all!

I thought I was having a senior moment, but alas, I am just having a dimming moment.

No it does not work. Tried both knobs, and no luck. Isn't that the weirdest thing? The service guy at the local Nissan outfit claimed this is the way they come from the factory but, again, that just cannot be.

Hi Carlos,

If there is indeed a dimming knob on the dash and it's not working, get Nissan to fix it as the relay of the knob or the wiring of it could be faulty. The dimmer option is standard in all modern cars (and even ones made in the 70s) emoticon
