After reading it I had to add my 2 cents to it, but am not sure if my comments will be published 
This is what I wrote in my reply to the author:

If that is the view of the author or the person that has test driven the X-Trail, then I must say that this was a “desk test drive” only and most probably based on other internet rubbish that doesn’t give the X-Trail its true value nor does it project the real capabilities of this SOFT roader at all.
Reviewers should do their home-work a bit harder and try to base their statements on REAL LIFE feedback from those who actually drive an X-Trail to see what it’s really capable of compared to other soft-roaders in its class.
To see what am talking about, have a look at the Trip Reports section of the Australian X-Trail Forum and you would realize that LOOKS don’t mean everything, PERFORMANCE does!

Am not surprised that my comments didn't make it....they didn't like it LOL
Serious car reviewers, like the ones we have seen in South Africa and other countries make a great effort to search for information, history and feedback from actual owners of a vehicle before putting together an article like that. In this case, the review is nothing but the usual 10 minute dribble based on brochures and general (wrong) perception of the xtrail. They haven't made the slightest effort in researching the xtrail, let alone comment on the capabilities of the diesel model!
Had I been the editor of that site, I would have asked the author to bin this article and provide solid information that is backed-up by facts....not fantasies and hear-say!

About time Nissan put in a full-page advert explaining the full capabilities of the Xtrail with testimonials and pics showing the type of terrain covered, not just the Sales-speak of all the usual ads.

I usually find the Car Advice site reasonably well informed.
When they recycle commonly held pre-conceptions or even personal bias then they have a problem.
Jalal - I reckon try leaving the comment again - I have left several, some contentious and they have never been rejected.

I also find Car Advice to be good site, this review is just a first steer so hopefully they'll do a full review soon. They gave the Petrol T31 4 or 4.5 out of 5, which is great.
After doing heaps of research into a new car, I've found Car Advice the best, mostly because of the user comments are quite insightful and the reviews are detailed with nice photos (which the reviewers took).
Never had problems commenting on it either, maybe it's the link to the AusXtrail website?
Anyways, anyone who wants a X-trail eventually finds their way here.... like me.
Well, looks like the wife decided she wants an X-trail, so probably place the order in a few weeks...... hopefully
