Well, my problem with first gear being hard to select has dissapeared over time. I would say by the 10000km mark it had virtually dissapeared. It was annoying, but probably just the gearbox being a bit tight because it was new

Hi Fangios,

I am finding the same problem on occasions. I have done 8000 km and now that you have also noticed the problem I will be paying particular attention to this. I thought it might be me.

In relation to the abruptness of the clutch, when I went for the test drive, i was told that this is the norm and u will probably kangaroo hop it at first..... he was right. This has proven a bit hard for the learner drivers in the family to get used to.

Other than that I am wrapped with my X Trail.......... the performance and fuel economy on long trips is great. Just need to take a bottle along so i dont have to stop between Melbourne and Adelaide.
