turbo whisle

I've done a search for this but can not find a thread. When cold I can hear what I assume is a slight turbo whisle. Drive arround 2000 rpm gently pressing and releasing the throttle pedel I can vary the frequency. Once warm I can not hear anything. I also notice that on the engine side of the air filter there is some oil, but not a huge ammount. From other sources (not Xtrail) information suggests that this could be normal but I would like to hear of any other X trailers experience. The car still has 1 1/2 years warrenty so I'm not worried but would like to keep an eye on the situation.

Its fine Chris.
Turbo whistle is more promenant when the engine is cold. I don't know why exactly.
You will be listening for it a lot more often now because you know what to listen for.
Turbo whine is a great sound to listen too. emoticon

Re: turbo whistle

You don't need a turbo to hear the whine, get a CAI and see what happens LOL emoticon

Andrew (dronus) is still scratching his head as to the whine I get in my engine when I rev it up upto the rev limiter emoticon
