hi all found the site and thought i had to join i have 2004 exy with BF goodrich muddies and supension up grade.Love all the pic of the members rides, got a question for anyone. When i had the supension done he could only give about an extra 45mm ground clearance, does any know of a kit or some one that can give me greater ground clearance. Great forum when i work out what i am doing i will put some of my off road pics up on the members rides

Hi Timbo,

Welcome to the forum, sounds like a nice exy with the lift and the BFGs

You should have a look at suspension lift thread in the forum, but the concensus is pretty much that anything higher than a 40/45mm lift will put a lot of strain on the CV joints

Re: new guy

Welcome to the forums Tim, and I look forward to seeing some photos of your muddies - are you sure they are muddies and not all-terrain? I originally wanted muddies but couldn't get any (at least not BFG's) and still keep my speedo accurate and to keep within the RTA wheel modification guidelines.

Search the forums and you'll find plenty of info on lifting options, tyre sizes and recommendations etc.

Hi Tim,

Here is a link to a post I made about air-bag suspension which would allow you to get as much lift as you want, but as already said above, the Xtrail has limitations because of its drive train setup using CV joints and the limited angle they can take.

Re: new guy

I've been offline for a week. If you haven't already done so, could you post more details of your tyres, such as model number, size (including width, profile and rim size) in this thread?
