What colour is your T30 X-Trail (poll)

hey all,

i was looking at the x trails on the road and it got me thinking, what was the most popular colour?

Why did you choose your colour?

we decided to go platinum because we figured dust and light marks would not stand out as much........

Our XTrail is Burgundy. We wanted to buy the Titanium or Platinum, but couldn't buy new.
 emoticon
The chemicals used in the interior fittings take around 6 months to offgas, and during this time Anita couldn't be around the car. So the deal was to buy a demonstrator (figuring that the demonstrator would have all the warranty and service history of a new vehicle, but someone else would have had the windows open to clear the aromatic hydrocarbons that cause Anita problems).
 emoticon emoticon
The Nissan dealers in SA don't have demonstrators in the popular colours of Titanium or Platinum, so we bought the burgundy model (which, coincidentally we had test driven when we were looking for the new car and discovered the problem with the chemicals!) emoticon
We are happy with our burgundy model - easier to find in shopping centre car parks as there are less of them around. But it would be interesting to hear from other owners about the ease of keeping the car looking clean through dusty summers and wet winters. (Jalal, we assume that yours gets at least a daily wash!)
Anita finds that the car only looks really clean for a few hours after each wash, as the pale dust or road grime from wet roads is obvious on the dark background. Once a week washing is about all the time she has to get the XTrail clean and still get to drive as well!
=D (Greg only gets to drive it on weekends)

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

One of the reasons we got the twilight is because of the washing factor. I love my exy, but am definitely not going to wash it every day. I can get a few weeks between washes, or if I'm particularly lazy even a couple of months.

Not sure how this poll is going to go, however I'm predicting it would be a toss up between the Twilight and Silver.

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

Well, you all know the colour of my exy (if you don't, then its chrome. hehehe)

Two colours I looked at when buying the exy and they were the deep blue and the black.

Since I was a kid I always looked at black cars with black window tints with fascination (for some reason emoticon ) and no matter what car make it was, it looked sort of classy in black (when clean of course), so I guess my dream has finally been realised emoticon

The salesman also told me that the Blue is very nice, but colour matching it could be a challenge should I have an accident.

I also heard the version of the story about black cars being hot in summer and so far I'm yet to see how a black car gets any hotter than another parked on the street on a hot summer day. Hot is hot, no matter what colour your car is.

It takes minutes for the car to cool down when I turn on the aircon.

I was also told that the black colour has a good resale value and is in demand in the 2nd hand market.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I chose black because I love it and because I knew that my exy will very rarely stay dirty for longer than a week (that's pushing it). hehehe

PLUS, you don't see that many black exy's around on the street and certainly not half chrome. hehehe

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

i was really quite disappointed in the colour selection available to us.. they are all quite boring!!! not even one shade of green! something bright would have been interesting too...

my current car is diamond white or whatever its called... my last car was black... the whitish car is so much easier to keep clean!

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

Mine is Titanium Silver, not our first choice but we needed one quickly and wanted the MY04 which was just coming into the country (Dec 2003). We also wanted a manual and a Ti-L. First choice was black but in the first batch there wasn't one, so settled on Titanium, which for silver is actually ok, it is more of a grey. With tinted windows it looks good and does not show dust! emoticon

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

Mine is platinum.
Hi Tia, you have expressed my sentiments exactly. I wasn't too impressed with the colours offered either, and would have loved green, always wanted a green car. (Or that pale Ford pink you see one of about once in every 10 years or so.)
I almost chose white, but didn't like the metallic look.
Were the early models a different white? My first test drive was in an early model white, which I would swear was a brilliant clear deep white and not metallic.

Re: What colour is your car (poll)

OK, this has bothered me for long enough ... what colour is "Platinum"?? It is not listed on the Nissan Aus site as an available colour option and from the photos of member's cars who claim to have Platinum they look the same as my Titanium Silver!
