Re: What colour is your car (poll)
Guys,
I lived in countries where the heat got up to 45 degrees C (in the shade) and I know exactly what you're talking about.
We had black cars there before and I always wanted to have one, but ended-up with white cars for some reason (2nd hand market offers little options)
All cars get hot when you park them under direct sunlight and I do with my exy every day. It takes me exactly 5 minutes drive with all windows down and air con full blast to get rid of all the heat inside the cabin and enjoy the cold air from the air-con.
On the bonus side and with the readings your mate has provided, I now know that I can fry an egg on my bonnet when I go camping. hehehe
The whole 2 weeks, I've been in Cairns, I only saw ONE black xtrail there and it looked special, as the rest were the most popular twilight.
I would prefer to drive something special and sweat my butt off. hahaha

Re: What colour is your car (poll)
Perhaps you could get the roof chromed? That should reflect a bit of heat (there may be heat from elsewhere though when the bill shows up)

Thats why I have 4 "chrome" spotties fitted on the roof
The heat "wave" had passed with no major damage "this time"

Re: What colour is your car (poll)
On my road trip to Cairns, I noticed so many more burgundy X-Trails up in QLD than in NSW. Noel, did you notice this on your trip down??

Burgundy is starting to get a bit more popular, although one colour which I'm seeing more and more of is Blue, for some strange reason.
And Nathan I do recall seeing one burgundy at the forum chrisy party, hehe, it was yours,

Re: What colour is your car (poll)
I've just bought a Burgandy Ti-L. I know if I hget a scratch it's going to be a pain to repair, but what the heck, it looks great when it's clean.
I know white is probably the most practical, but it sorta looks weird on the Exy. Just a matter of taste I guess.

Re: What colour is your car (poll)
I don't think being burgundy is going to make it any worse than any other colour. I've got a nice deep 6inch one along the left mudguard and don't know how it got there. And I've got about 8 or 9 tiny chunks (1mm)in a small curve on my drivers window sill. (Possibly the result of an egg being thrown at the window the first week i was up here in Darwin, parked on the street.)
The local Nissan dealers touch-up expert said he couldn't do it and i'd have to take it to a paint shop.
I'm currently in Darwin, and have decided to get them both done when i get back to the sunshine coast. Our local dealer here i was not very impressed with in any way, really sloppy and lack of professionalism, but then i think i got really spoiled by Garry Crick Auto Group on the Sunshine Coast, who were absolutely excellent.

Re: What colour is your car (poll)
Hot topic indeed. Jalal I had the choice of metalic paint but much like yourself I had some childhood dreams that needed to be taken care of, and after I viewed your web page there was no doubt in my mind that black was the choice for me (BLack Obsidian KH3)
I lived on the Sunshine Coast for about 24 years (most of this was childhood) and my parents or I never had a black car, mainly for the heat factor but now that I am in sunny Melbourne I can forget about that concern (for most of the year anyway) and just worry about the water restrictions when i wash it every couple of days.LOL.
I am very excited.. only about a week and a half until I will be sitting behind the wheel of my new baby.
Cheers, wantanx.
