Your car after your Xtrail.

Been a while since Ive been on here since I am now xtrail-less, but I would be interested to see what people who have moved on from the xtrail have replaced it with.

I'd say there would be a large proportion who have used the xtrail as an entry point into 4wd-ing, and have moved on to more robust 4wd's.

Like myself. My xtrail replacement is a 2004 NP Pajero.
Why? - Needed 3rd row of seats. Wanted a Diesel, and to keep 4wd without loosing a car-like feel. Was a toss up at the time between Pajero and Santa Fe. Glad I took the Paj.

RonV stayed with the brand, but stepped up to the Pathfinder.

Anyone else ?

Re: Your car after your Xtrail.

Hi Geoff,

Long time no speak.

A few that I remember:

* BRETT72 (Brett) traded his exy for Subaru Tribeca
* YWAIT (Matt) got BT Tourer Ute
* Naff (Nathan) got himself Triton Ute

Jalal got a 2007 Corolla (after the Tiida got written-off) but still kept the exy emoticon

Re: Your car after your Xtrail.

Hi Geoff
I went the opposite way, coming from big lifted Patrol's (x3) with big rubber down to an Xy.

I needed something that would tow the work trailer, get me onto the building sites (4x4) and something that is reliable.
looked at a Kluger then found the Xy.
Second best decision I've made.
Tony

Re: Your car after your Xtrail.

I also went the other way... I traded my 98NL Pajero in for my 2007 X-Trail and couldn't be happier... The only thing I do miss is a conveniently placed digital clock. The one in the Exy is difficult to read and of course one needs to push the button and go thro' the trip meters until it appears... OK I know its a simple thing to buy one from Supercheap but I just can't seem to remember it when I'm up that end of town...... How many others were just like me and forgot that yesterday was National Alzheimers Day....Al emoticon

... well Francine got the Tribeca.
Brett got the Patrol before trading in the Xtrail, so I would say he moved up to a bigger 4WD first emoticon

Wendy and myself will be trading up in a few years time to a Navara to tow the 21foot caravan emoticon or we could go the patrol!

Went from 2003 Mercedes A190 to 2008 X-Trail then 6 months later 2003 smart fortwo to 2008 Navara Dual Cab ST-X. If I was to get rid of the Exy now I'd get a Pathfinder

Re: Your car after your Xtrail.

Trading down was one of the best decisions - from a 2004 NP Pajero (sorry Geoff! But it was a petrol and drove like a bit of a pig..) down to the '02 Exy "Beast". Couldn't be happier!

Hubby drives a 2008 Holden Rodeo for work, and if we had to get another 'family' car we'd go for a Prado (diesel, manual). Would've said Pathfinder but last time I checked they don't come in a manual emoticon Someone correct me if I'm wrong! emoticon
