Re: The Platinum Projectile
Sorry all, havent logged on for awhile, been super busy with my other car (1968 VW type3 squareback) and havent done a thing to the exy. its due for a service too . also i start a new job on monday at a tyre shop on the desk and doing rego inspections. good to be off the tools, id rather it be a hobby than a job. So maybe in the future i can help some members out with tyres and wheels

Re: The Platinum Projectile
hahahah jeeze thanks guys. its pretty neat i guess. ive only cleaned it twice in 50,000 kms and i dont use silicons spray or anything cos dust tends to stick to it.
i get a few people saying things about my brakes. they look as good as the day i painted them. maybe i should get a clear bonnet made up hahahahha.

Re: The Platinum Projectile
hi all, havent done anything to the xtrail in awhile, except clean it every now and then. til now...
on sunday i bought a cadence 12" sub in tuned box, with cadence mono block amp and wiring kit (picked up for a steal, no i didnt actually steal it). i told myself i didnt want a subwoofer in the xtrail but im not enjoying/getting a full range of sound without one. i finish work late so itll have to wait til saturday to fit it. il have to see how sneaky i can install it and maybe just the sub box and no wiring will be visible. i might strip the back completely (might be a good time to do some sound proofing/deadening) and mount the amp in a side trim depends on how much room there is, also thinking depending on how much air space there is around the amp i might wire a 12v computer fan to the amp.
will post pics asap, still itching to get my lowered springs too, damn money

Re: The Platinum Projectile
The only problem with hiding the sub is you might loose the sound quality.
All subs should be housed in a 'tuned' box which optimises the air flow around it, changing the air volume could affect the output and clarity of it.

Re: The Platinum Projectile
hi cooch, i wasnt going to hide the sub cos it 12" in a large tuned ported box so it would be almost impossible to hide anywhere in the xtrail, i was just going to try hide the amp, if not at least every last bit of wiring. i was going to mold and fibreglass a sub into the spare wheel cover/cargo area removable floor section but air volume and clarity were big contributers to me abandoning the idea. cheers anyway
