You're right about the issue with the spotties. I am sure it's been mentioned already in the the spotties thread. The concern is that they protrude past the body of the car, and may be a hazard to pedestrians in the event of a collision. My personal thoughts are that the pedestrian probably shouldn't have been there in the first place, and more seriously, that the lights have no sharp pieces to be able to penetrate the body, so that would be my argument if I was ever pulled over and spoken to about them, which I've never had the opportunity to do in 5 years or so of having the 240's on... I have been pulled into random breath-test stations a few times and it's never been brought up by the officer(s), and I wasn't going to make their day by bringing it to their attention, either - not that they're hard to miss!

They're sticking out too far indeed. I suggest you enlarge the hole in the base of the spotties and try and slide them back a little.
