Ok, since the Avonlea forum is down and I can't write in my fan fic, I'll start another one.

Anne stood looking out the window. She hated school today. The teacher had made her sit by that horrid Gilbert Blythe. Now the Cuthberts had found out she cracked her slate over his head as well. Rachel and Marilla were talking about it in the other room. Anne strained to hear what they were saying...

But then Anne decided that she didn't care what Rachel or anyone in this stupid hick town thought.
She decided that right after school, she would try to get some odd jobs to make enough money to blow this pop stand and become a famous reporter... and travel the world.
