Re: The Ultimate Harry Potter Thread
Omg. Equus pictures. But in a good way..l.o.l..if Dan wanted to wash away the spectre of being Harry Potter he's certainly succeeded
I feel obliged to put a content warning for partial nudity here just in case..it's all in the best possible taste of course. I think the lighting is stunning myself. But either no offence..so if you don't wish to see DO NOT LOOK. Kay?

The poster for the play is a little slice of genius...disturbing but compelling..just like the play:

It's a fantastic scarily fascinating show. I was blown away when I saw it at college when a friend directed it and I'm glad Dan has been brave enough to take on such an mature and emotionally demanding role. I'm sure he'll knock em dead.

Re: The Ultimate Harry Potter Thread
For a mix of literary/theological analysis of HP, check out the Hogwarts Professor website. It's set up by John Granger, who wrote that great Looking for God in Harry Potter book and has a blog with lots of interesting things. He's an Orthodox Christian and I think a literature professor, and though there is a Christian viewpoint I think it's accessible to readers of all (or no) faiths.

Re: The Ultimate Harry Potter Thread
Darn you for beating me to the punch! I've been calling everyone I know (including the people who don't care) about it. Freak out! I'm so excited. And so sad...what am I supposed to do if I can't theorize about Harry?! My life will be over!
On the other hand-I think the release date is much more fitting than the 7/7/07 idea. It's coming out 10 years to the day of the release of the 1st book. That's far more appropriate. An end of an era indeed...
And it's coming out all of 8 days after the movie comes out-talk about a week of Harry Potter stress/madness/etc. I'm going to be INSANE that week.

Re: The Ultimate Harry Potter Thread
I'm going to see the movie in Imax tomorrow night! *And* we've rented HPatGoF to watch tonight.. Mom's coming... we're on the sly b/c the boys are all gone this week.. so it's girls week and after littlest sisters are in bed, mom, next sis, a family friend and I are going. AND my dad won't be home to see the surreptitious Amazon arrival of the book on Sat... I wish he weren't so deadset, but atleast mom's okay with me getting it, so I won't have to wait until fall.

Re: The Ultimate Harry Potter Thread
I've promised that I'll wait to see the movie until next week when I'm in Arkansas. Grrr!! I'm anxious. I want to see it so badly!
I can't believe the final book comes out in less than week now though!! I still need to decide how I'm getting my copy --- the rest of my HP collection are the British versions, so I would much prefer waiting to buy a copy until I can somehow get a British copy, but that means probably waiting awhile, and that would be *very* hard. So, I don't know . . . I'm torn . . .

Re: The Ultimate Harry Potter Thread
I don't know what I feel about it! I liked it, but I think I just pictured a lot of things differently. *shrug*
