Callie Cramp

I've been wondering if Callie is short for anything.

In the book series that I'm currently reading there's a character named Callie. The reader is told that Callie is short for Calliope.

Then I got to thinking that if Callie's "real" name was Calliope that it would fit her really well.

Calliope would fit her well.

There was a movie on the other day called Santa Baby that had Lynne Griffin, Callie Cramp as Mrs. Claus. It was hard to see her as a jolly woman after Callie

Oh, I can't imagine Callie as Mrs. Claus. She would probably be smuggling presents to the Grinch or something. emoticon

It must have been a funny movie to watch. emoticon Callie is always so sarcastic and over-the-top.

Personally, I don't think Callie is short for anything. I dunno. If it were anything, it was probably--more likely than not--another nickname a la Honey, Toppy, Fat, or Hub.

Re: Callie Cramp

According to the website below, Callie is its own name, but could also be short for Caroline or Carol:
