Storylines you liked in Season 5 (spoilers)

Which storylines did you like in Season 5? What did you like about them?

Pick as many as you want (the ones that you liked).

"May's stroke, Maisey, and Juanita Bascombe", mainly because Nurse Bascombe was such a good character in general. Toppy writing a book about her experiences was also a bit of a bright light of an otherwise abysmal season, I thought.

Re: Storylines you liked in Season 5 (spoilers)

I voted for the stroke, the book, the mayor, and the chess.

I liked the stroke because I really enjoyed Juanita. The book was a nice new story line for Toppy. I liked the mayor story line because of the competition between Max and the Cramps. I liked the chess story line because I really enjoyed Eddie Jackson. I also liked the fact that the chess story line gave Fat a larger role in this season.

As for the Grace and Van story line. I did and didn't like it. There were parts that I enjoyed and parts that I didn't enjoy.

Re: Storylines you liked in Season 5 (spoilers)

I accidently voted for the things I didn't like. emoticon

Anyways, the things I did like were:
I didn't mind that Hub was considering becoming a priest (although I didn't really want him to become one) and I really liked Hub and Laura's relationship.

May's stroke was good because I also liked Juanita Bascome.

Max becoming the mayor was good too.

Toppy writing a book was okay for the most part, although it would have been better if it was Max writing the book.

I thought the part with Fat and chess was also good because I thought it was good that Fat was actually getting something that he was good at (instead of it always being Hub) plus I really liked Eddy Jackson.

Re: Storylines you liked in Season 5 (spoilers)

The two storylines I liked in Season 5 were:

Maisey, Juanita Bascombe and May's stroke - I think this was the season I started to really like Maisey. At first, I was annoyed that May had yet another illness, but Juanita was a good character, and it turned out to be a great storyline. The only thing was I think May regained her speech rather abruptly.

Fat and chess - I really like Eddy Jackson too, and it was great to see Fat excelling. Every time I see a Season 5 episode, I feel a little sad we didn't see Fat grow up in a Season 6 or 7. There was a huge gap of time between Season 5 and "A WAMB Christmas", and by then, Fat was already all grown up.
