Would you tell him?

hey ladies!
A question for you...
would you tell a guy you liked him, and how? (tell him, email, phone call, letter, have a friend tell him, etc).
I've come to the conclusion that if I want something to happen, I'm going to have to do the telling here. So early January- here goes it! (because he'll be out of town til the 3rd). My choir gals voted against the letter idea, and said the flat-out-tell-him was the way to do it.
I want your opinions!!!!!

I'm to shy to tell guys I like them, but I'd say you should probably just tell him if you really want him to know. emoticon

Re: Would you tell him?

I agree...don't send a letter or an email. It's best to tell him - sending a letter sounds very much like something we would have done in High School.

Ask him out to coffee...which is neutral...but alone, and then bring it up over a mocha.

Have you gotten any signs from him? I'm giving this advice assuming that you know him - are friendly.

Emily's right. Ask him out for coffee (or hot chocolate, whatever your preferance :P) and go from there. Don't just tell him stright away. You need the atmosphere to be right first.

Well-I'm not the right person to ask for this. Of course I think telling in person is better, but I'm always way too terrified to say something like that-think Elinor in Sense and Sensibility-so I really admire people who get up the nerve to do so! Let us know how it turns out. And good luck!

I say tell him in person, but sometimes it's easier to do it without being face-to-face. My boyfriend and I talked online for like two years before meeting, and after finally meeting and hanging out, he chose Yahoo! Messenger to tell me that he thought he was "falling" for me. While that may seem a little impersonal, at least he TOLD me. So I figure any way that gets the point across is a good way. Good luck!

Re: Would you tell him?

Ok ladies... here is an update!!
I have spent the last 3 or so weeks thinking about it all, and here is what came up. I am SO glad I didn't write him a letter! I thought I'd see how these 3 weeks would go, with him back home in BC and me in Sk. I never heard from him once (which I had expected but still...!) And after talking with my roommate, I learned a few things about him and she kept saying "Elaine, you can do SO much better!" So it really affirmed my decision not to tell him anything, and I felt great about it.
Then yesterday I got a Christmas card from him and yikes- those emotions are running again!!! Argh!!! He should be back in Sk today.
So that's my update. Super glad I didn't write a letter, and WAS feeling good about not telling him!!!! emoticon emoticon
Does anyone else like a guy they are having a heck of a time getting over?!?!

Re: Would you tell him?

 emoticon

Oh yes, I´m afraid so. A few years ago I met a tall, dark and very, very charming guy at work ( I´m a nurse and he of cause was doctor - just like a bad Barbara Cartland book!). I fell in love with him from the very first time I saw him, but he could not care less! He was flirting with all the blond nurses, he went out with all the blond nurses but he not even once looked at my side! That was a really a difficult time and even though I´ve put it behind me, I sometims think of him.
