Everything Izzy: The little army hero who socks smirkers and bloomer stealers.
I figured it was about time she got her own topic. Long live Izzy! And let discussions about smirking boys continue

I'm rather proud of this topic myself I'm not going to lie-every once in a while I strike moments of pure genius. *shrug/smirk*
Speaking of-someone needs to talk with the powers that be about getting a "smirk" smilie.

Thanks Bee! I got tired out of putting up character topics - but Iz was definitely on my mind, thanks for reading it! (and thanks Ilse for Peter topic too).
Izzy made me grin from her first screen appearance - like Gus, for example. Immediately I wanted to see more of her because she was just so fun in her boys' pants, her prancing about beating up the boys, standing at attention for her father and declaring she would be the first woman general of the British Army!
Yes, Iz was absolutely great. And for those reasons Felix liked her too.
"I met a new friend, Felix!? I socked him in the nose!" - Iz
"Didja now Iz?" - Clive Pettibone

I loved that her idea of a punishment was painting her face green and going to school. So funny!

Oh yes! And wearing a dress as punishment too! ### - I can just picture her sitting in the King's parlour, with Felix smirking at her (I'm pretty sure he gave her a highly amused smirk when he saw her and she said "Shut up, Felix. It's my punishment.") - anyways sitting VERY uncomfortably in her dress, looking awfully serious, and Janet comes up and offers her a plate of something and she says,"Izzy! How lovely you look!"
"Thankyou Mrs. King." Frown. "It's my punishment." *proud head*
"Ahhh..." Janet says, extreme confusion on her face, but she gives a kind Janetish smile and moves along.

Hehe! *That* was the moment I *really* fell in love with Izzy. I adored her before, but I loved her after that. Her character is so dynamic, which is what I love about her. Not only is she dynamic, but she's dynamic with a purpose. Sometimes Felicity, for example, would be given a storyline that kind of ...dead ended or didn't really do much to help her grow as a character. But Izzy really evolved.

Yes - you are right. As a supporting character, Izzy got some GREAT strategic storylines that caused her to grow. That's a really good point Bee.
I think that (up until WOI at any rate) you can definitely see Izzy's progress as a character.
The thing is I don't think Izzy was finished growing into a young woman at that point - she had just made it through another one of those awkward hurdles.
If we could have another - at least one more Fizz or Izz episode in Season Seven - what would we have done?
Felix is dissatisfied and joins the Navy - but honestly, honestly. Don't you think Iz might have had a thing or two to say?
She's the one who wanted to be the first female Commander of the British Army, though her dreams have mellowed, her father was in the army, and now Felix has got the notion to join the navy.
And he just convinced HER not to leave.
