That Perry Miller is going to be the death of you, as my Aunt Hetty would say! However, I am certain you've made the right choice, despite the wine and the deceitful way in which Perry Miller proposed. I have a certain intuitive knack for knowing when people are meant to be, and the two of you dear are meant to be. Just think, Ilse, you can spend your married life getting each other back for all the pranks you've pulled upon each other!
You can't say that things will not be interesting between you.
And upon the account of Emily Starr and Teddy, I must decline to comment. You simply must go and visit her! She's had a simply dreadful past few years, you know Ilse, and despite herself she misses you terribly!
I believe New Moon hearkens a call to you Miss Ilse, though I would be very pleased to hear of our dear Emily's engagement to Teddy!
Speaking on your description of poor Jo's and Booth's wedding, I MUST beg of you to let me include it in one of my stories - if Emily doesn't snag it first!
To turn to the subject of my dear King cousins, FK has been quite busy lately on some mysterious business venture. He and Iz are both very dear to me and have always suited each other nicely, and I wouldn't worry about Mr. P. He may grill and fuss over Felix ridiculously, but he is truly a softie at heart.
My dear Cecily is just thriving and I daresay I am looking forward to seeing her quite soon. I think that it is very important for us girls to be independent in the world, and I would say - continue to encourage them in it!
As for Arthur - we've been great chums for ages you know - I am aware of his travels to Avonlea.
But here's the last bit of gossip you did not hear - for I am coming to Avonlea again at last too! I'm meeting up with Arthur in Halifax on my way through from Montreal and we're sure to have a wonderful time catching up on the train.

Yes, it is true - Teddy and I are engaged and it as though sunshine has come into my heart again.
You can't imagine, Ilse, how lonely it's been without Teddy - and you of course dearest - but even without Teddy my friend.
I am sorry you heard of it through the fare of Island gossip - but I was hoping I would have seen you sooner than this.
It is such a long story, much longer than his recent return and I do wish to tell you all of it!
This tale is wrought with misunderstanding and pride and I am ashamed to say that my New Moonish pride kept me from him. I have loved him for so long and did not know he loved me.
Do hurry home Ilse! Writing it out just isn't enough, I want to see you and tell you all!
I am sorry Perry did such a sorry excuse for a proposal. Don't you worry Ilse, I shall write to him directly he'll have a sorry scolding enough to burn his ears!
But you must learn to say no to too much, dear Ilse, when drinking wine or otherwise.
Promise me, Ilse that you will be careful. The stars are bright tonight at New Moon, Ilse, and I have a fresh new candle that is burning brightly. I have the yen to write again, dearest Ilse - my heart has been renewed!
