I just finished watching The Ties That Bind and found the whole elopement scene absolutely hilarious. Especially when they hear Hetty coming toward Olivia's room and Olivia slaps Jasper's hand away from the sill so she can close the window. emoticon

She and Jasper had the FUNNIEST courtship. You'd think Hetty had never had a suitor in her life the way she carries on emoticon

We just watched Felix and Blackie which was a definite tear jerker for me. But aside from that, anyone ever wonder why Clara Potts had to have a package (her corset) delivered to her when she could just have walked across the street and picked it up at the General Store? emoticon

I've always wondered that too. emoticon I've also wondered why people would go in the store and say they needed an item to be delivered. Why didn't they just take it with them?

I think that's because the general store didn't carry everything, most things you had to order so they would put their order in and when it came they had it delivered to their house

Yes...if you remember from the episode "The Ties that Bind," where Olivia is ordering her wedding dress...there were catalogues in the store where they could send away for specialty ladies items that needed to be made.

Additionally, not everyone lived in town. My guess is that most people in Avonlea were farmers and that delivery out to their farms would definitely have been a courtesy, most especially during the summer months.

Clara Potts always seemed rather lazy to me. Even the wedding dresses were picked up at the General Store in the Ties that Bind. There may have been no REASON for it to be delivered - perhaps Mrs. Potts was putting on airs?

Wasn't Clara's house in town in Boys Will Be Boys? Hmmm.

Perhaps Clara ordered a special corset that they didn't carry at the general store...Maybe it was equipped with a recording device whereby she could record the conversations she heard in town? Hmmmm.

Speaking of clothing items, how did Alec know in Evelyn that his shoes would fit Gus?

Do you think the kids ever figured out that Peg Bowen was always messing with them?

Stuart's Worst Line

Yee-ah, those King children didn't ever seem to be to right when it came to Peg Bowen. :b I don't think that they ever really realized that Peg was pretty much making a fool out of them. One would've thought that after "Misfits and Miracles" Sara would've realized that Peg really didn't have any powers...

I got to thinking about how horrible this line is.
Stuart: "I've waited a lifetime for you, Felicity."

ewww emoticon I don't think that the writers thought through that one.

You know, I think I commented on that before. emoticon

I don't remember you commenting on it before, Avy... but you are totally right! Yes folks, write this down... Av used a barfey smiley in the same paragraph as Stupicity... she's finally come to her senses! emoticon That really is a horrid line... considering their age difference and the fact that Felicity was barely out of childhood... Ick!
