Kidding aside... that's cool that all of those Sullivan production people are in that series, Avster! Is it good?

emoticon I'll have to take some screen caps for you. He's only in the movie for about five minutes. :b He's in the second movie. The movies are fairly good. They are lower budget...

Has anyone ever noticed how flexible Jackie Burroughs is?

Speaking of clothing items, how did Alec know in Evelyn that his shoes would fit Gus?

I don't know. Maybe he figured they wore the same size. In Otherwise Engaged, Felix comes to the light house and tells Gus he forgot his shoes. Didn't Gus say he never liked those shoes and they always pinched his feet? Weren't those the shoes Alec gave him?

Yee-ah, I recall Gus saying that too. emoticon The shoes look an awful lot like what Alec gave Gus.

We recently watched Another Point of View and noticed a blooper. it happens when Professor Dimple comes calling on Hetty to try to butter her up and she is in the yard chopping wood. When she first is talking to him, she picks up the ax to put around on her shoulder and if you watch closely she accidently hits herself with the ax in the head. Looks like it might have been hard enough to hurt. ouch. emoticon

Just watched Aunt Janet Rebels and I must say that little baby Daniel is so cute. The scene where Alec is cleaning up Daniel when Janet gets home from a day of trying to get signatures. That baby is SO ADORABLE. emoticon

Sooo...in "Strictly Melodrama," Hetty is the first to notice that the strudel Olivia makes is not as good as the strudel Eleanor McHugh made, but I don't recall Hetty ever eating Eleanor McHugh's strudel. Things that make you go, "Hmmm." I do love a good strudel mystery.

When did Olivia have TIME to make the struedel in the first place?? I always assume they are eating the struedel the night of the play... does anyone know?!

Boy, I don't remember that... I remember Olivia looking over Hetty's shoulder when Hetty wrote the recipe down. Wait... were they eating the strudel when they made the bet on the recipe?

When I was watching "A Time to Every Purpose" with Rilla, I noticed an interesting thing. Dr. Snow's first name in RtA (Benjamen) is the same as his first name in WaMB!

Hetty was writing down the King streudel recipe, because she was sure they were going to bomb the play, until Olivia suggested they get Janet back in!
And they were trying out Eleanor's streudel when they made the bet in the first place (at the drama meeting).
So how did Olivia find time to make the streudel after the play when they got the recipe that night?!?! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Re: Random Episode Discussion Thread ~~~Watch, Comment, Vent

I just recently watched Friends and Relations and just loved it. I've been reading the Harper Collins tie in books with each episode. The book for this episode was written by the same person who wrote the teleplay--Heather Conkie. I found it interesting a few differences between the book and the episode, plus the book gave some more details on things.

In the book it was mentioned that Alec, Felix and Jasper were to use Ed Lawson's ice hut which was supposed to have been unoccupied. But when they got to the lake all of the huts were in use. If Gus hadn't offered to share his hut they would have had to go back home.
In the book, the auction was at the Town Hall, in the show it appeared that the auction was held at the White Sands.
In the show, Jasper is the one who tells Gus that Felicity is like her Aunt Hetty.
In the book Alec overhears Jasper and Gus talking about Felicity and it is Alec who plants the thought in Gus's head that she is like Hetty.
It is significant at the end that Felicity is sitting next to Hetty when they are all getting warmed up. Here's an excerpt:
"He (Gus)looked from Janet and Alec to Hetty King, and then from Hetty to Felicity sitting side by side, sipping their hot chocolate in exactly the same manner. "Nah," he said softly to himself. For the life of him he still didn't understand what Alec King had meant when he said that Felicity was Hetty. Two women couldn't be more different. Gus smiled broadly at Felicity who, once again caught, couldn't ignore him, and smiled back.
From across the room where they still danced slowly to the music, Alec and Janet witnessed the exchange, looked at each other and shook their heads. Their little girl was growing up."

The book also gives more details about the rivalry and hurt feelings between Janet and Abigail when they are out confronting each other in the snowstorm.

The book is definitely worth the read. emoticon
