A God-given Dream

I generally am not one to believe in dreams. Most dreams seem to be more inspired by pizza and other things consumed or just by imaginative minds. However, I have had a couple dreams in my life which I believe God used to help me along the way.

The year was 1986. It was shortly before the first camp meeting I had ever attended (up to that time) in which I had arrived without a need to be reclaimed or to be sanctified. I was about 18 1/2 years of age and had been very conscientiously seeking God and trying to serve Him the best I knew. However, I was assailed by the accusations of the Devil, trying to get me to cast away my confidence.

In the midst of such a trying time, I had a very peculiar dream. One which I believe God gave me as an aid to my faith -- like when Gideon went down and heard one of his enemies tell about a dream they had in the night which dream scared his enemies, but encouraged Gideon (Judges 7:13-15).

Here is my dream:

I was walking along a pathway and saw a huge, burly man with a black beard. He motioned for me to come to him. I felt a supernatural pull and began to move toward the man. Suddenly, he transformed into a ferocious beast. It seemed to me a lion or a wolf, I knew not which, but I knew that it represented the Devil.

I was afraid and knew that I needed help immediately to break the power of this predator. Then saw the image of a lamb and knew that I must plead the blood of the Lamb. So I did. At that moment the power of the enemy was broken and I continued on the pathway without fear and without giving in to the enemy's persuasion.

Here is the Interpretation (made clear by what actually followed in real life): emoticon

The Devil was trying to persuade me to cast away my confidence and prevent me from praying and getting answers to prayer like never before in my life. But, God was on my side and by trusting only in Jesus, the Lamb of God, for deliverance, I was able to overcome Satan's power and go from victory to victory throughout the camp meeting time.

I told my dream and what I believed God wanted me to learn from it to a friend, and we concurred that it agreed with the Word of God (the Bible). Then we proceeded to the prayer chapel and prayed through for God to move upon the camp meeting. That was a most wonderful prayer meeting where only two agreed together in prayer and God visited us marvelously.

Note: More details may be shared about this camp and the prayer meeting in other posts under the Stories from My Life forum.
