Current Communication Lag
As some of you know I'm currently involved in moving home and heading for the West Midlands. Now this won't effect BRR at all but for the next couple of weeks replies to any emails you send or topics you post may be delayed while I resettle. There will be an Hillbilly event in August, and I will be at it.
With regards to muskets, rifles and ICBM's I'll discuss it with the reffing team at the first opportunity Jasper. The main holdback on range is the pure out of play problem of alerting a crewman or player at long range that he/she has been hit. With a bow the arrow is the alerter to the target. For long range weapons we get around this by having a ref at the receiving end of cannon fire. For Collette I was working on a laser dot thingie, not for pinpoint accuracy but to attract the crewpersons attention that they were being aimed at. This was not as successful as I would have wished. If you can come up with a constructive method of alerting a target at long range, that doesn't tie up a crewperson, or involve going up to them after and saying 'but I shot you, didn't you see me?' then we'd be happy to investigate it for you.

Just as an update people, I'm going to be off line from tomorrow until 18/08/09. Wednesbury doesn't have a cyber cafe to the best of my knowledge, but its lending library has a good collection of scrolls and tablets ;)
I'll see a good few of you at Hillbilly anyway
