Errands being run...
Must and damp and the scent of countless years of dust rose from every one of a dozen piles of ancient leather - and those the ones illuminated only fitfully by the single candle held on an equally archaic dish. On either side, between massive masonry pillars the shadows flickered and danced over more haphazardly piled documents from the earliest days of the Duchy, tax rolls and the books of deeds mingled together with histories and discourses too obscure for even the handful of remaining 'true' Bards to remember...
His tired, bloodshot eye taking them in with visible loathing, the companion of the clerk holding the light (and a cloth over his mouth against the risk of bad airs) turns to him, and violates the silence with a raspy, recovering voice as his fingers lightly play over the barely visible bronze grip tucked under his half-cloak "I want you to find about dragons for me..."

Raising a goblet of cheap but pleasant wine (the sort offered to a man who's a distasteful but useful guest, rather than an important or welcome visitor), Creed's one remaining eye meets that of the Archduke's Champion, mid-way through his speech.
"...lose-lose for the Archduke at the moment anyway. Either the traitors win and he has a second front to worry about or the rebels win and he and his line for the next few generations have to put down peasant revolts left, right and centre." - a sip of the slightly sour red vintage (which of course suits his disposition down to the ground), the one-time Judicial Champion goes on - "And he's not got the men to fight there and stand off the *****-queen. But give me some wagons of leathers instead of mail, training bows instead of warbows, the younger sons and a dozen rangers and I'll raise bloody hell up there. If we can sell it to his itchiness of Wisbrooke, we might even rally some of the old Jaegervald muster to the saints banner. What say you..?"
