Cinema

Thought I'd do something to discuss current cinema flicks for people wanting an idea of what to see.

I've recently seen Jumper, which I thought was worth a watch. Not an amazing film, but amazing films are pretty rare.

Rambo was decent as far as a Rambo film would go. Some reviews I've seen suggest to me that people expect it to be something it's never going to be. It did actually make me think about conflicts in developing countries. Particularly the role that Westerners, particularly Christians have in such circumstances... can handfuls of aid workers really change things, or do they just put a stitch over an axe wound that's never gonna heal?

It's all good baby baby.

Saw Be Kind, Rewind the other day. Very funny in places, but not consistently funny enough for me.

I saw Be Kind Rewind on saturday, agree that it's not consistently funny, but well worth seeing, the Ghostbusters spoof is amazing. 7/10

Juno is worth a watch, unconvential storyline, refreshing in many ways, some really good performances and very funny in places. 8/10

No Country for Old Men is amazing, a must see. Javier Bardem as the hitman is chillingly good. 9.5/10

Im gonna go see Semi Pro this weekend, looks pretty funny if you like goofy Will Ferrel comedies. There Will be Blood looks reallly good and Daniel Day Lewis is a genius. 10,000 BC looks good too.

Go see 'No Country for Old Men', great film, Javier Bardem's brilliant as the hit-man and has a very unusual weapon

I enjoyed watching "No country for Old men" but didn't think it was really amazing - sometimes its cool to say these sort of films are amazing. I would howevr say that the hitman was the man, seriously well played.

And Martin, I have one of those weapons, I use it on underperforming midfielders. How do you think Hyde developed his cramp problem?

When I first saw adverts on buses for this, I thought "Oh no, not another Will Ferrell comedy where he play his usual mad, zany role." But having seen a trailer at BKR, I have to say it looked pretty funny.

...Simon, it wasn't that I underperformed in the friendly last weekend... I wasn't there!

..another film worth seeing is 'Cloverfield', a different take on the aliens invade story line...fast paced and not too long, also doesn't have any 'A' list actors which is a good thing in my book

Who said that was aimed at you. Me thinks you have a guilty conscience.
