in the U.K.), picks up with the cast just after the death of Young Mr. Grace. Grace Brothers is closing down, and instead of the handsome retirement pensions that they all thought they were going to get, the staff has been left a bed and breakfast cottage called Millstone Manor in the English countryside. Now if they want some of their pensions back, they had better get to work!
So Mr. Humphries (John Inman), Mrs. Slocombe (Mollie Sugden), Captain Pea**** (Frank Thornton), Miss Brahms (Wendy Richard) and Mr. Rumbold (Nicholas Smith) head up to take a look at their inheritance and meet the current staff of Millstone Manor. There's Mr. Moulterd (Billy Burden), an old man made in the Mr. Mash mold, who says that he shares quite a bit of...*ahem*...history with our Mrs. Slocombe. His daughter Mavis (Fleur Bennet) is an innocent farm lass--or is she?--who becomes unaccountably fond of Mr. Humphries, much to his confusion. In fact, her fondness for Mr. Humphries causes quite a bit of confusion among the rest of the Millstone Manor inhabitants and a lot of tension with Mavis's ex-boyfriend Malcolm (Andrew Barclay).
Let's not forget Ms. Lovelock (Joanne Heywood), Mr. Grace's assistant who tended to Mr. Grace in is reclining years. She's now living in the groom's quarters near the stables and she's got a stake in how well the B&B does too. Her presence seems to have given Captain Pea**** something to look forward to each morning, and perhaps reminds Mrs. Slocombe and Miss Bramhs a bit too much of their long-gone youth. Also for the first time, we see Mrs. Slocombe's pussy in the flesh! And I will say, it looks nothing like I always thought it would have 
The staff quickly learns that running a B&B is the same as working on the 4th floor of Grace Brothers...and yet so different!
Unlike AYBS? with its healthy 10-year run, Are You Being Served? Again ran for only two seasons. Rumors continue to persist of a third unaired season involving a wedding and a jilting, but it's yet to ever materialize on our television screens...and it's been almost a decade since the end of AYBS?A so I'm pretty certain it's fiction and not fact.
