I have always desired to put together a 3po suit, but havent ever dove into it for financial reasons. Good news: i now have finances and wife approvalI am a former funeral director/mortician in indianapolis, currently in software testing and plan on devoting alot of summer time to creating a suit. I greatly appreciate the forum here for those equally interested and those who are knowledgable.Looking through the tutorials are great... I am hopeful to find a way to soon acquire the full parts needed to get started... I kindly ask for assistance in the "finding"Cheers, jon

I made a few mods to make it easier to disassemble and get the parts on and off.I made a video showing how it went together but I can't find it. Might have to do another one later tonight.

Have big, want small

If you can't find someone to trade with, I'm working on templates for the arms now. They should be pretty easy to make from scratch. My life is crazy busy but I'll post them as soon as I have time. I might be able to do a temporary version of the templates sooner if you need them in a hurry.

Looking for just a pair of shoulder rings. Resin or fiberglass, even ones that may need repairing would help.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi everyone, I'm Garth from Canada.I've always loved C-3PO and am hoping this site will give me the drive to finally build a wearable costume.I currently have a Stormtrooper, Tusken Raider, and just finished a Pre Vizsla costume. I'm hoping all the skills used to build those costumes will translate over to this build.I haven't worked with fibreglass much, more of an ABS and styrene kind of guy, but I'm always open to trying new materials and methods. As with many other members on here I am researching 3PO parts (ABS vs fibreglass) and am hoping I can start piecing together a costume soon. Can't wait to get started!

Re: Baxterianism's Build thread

Hockeytrooper.. I did sand and prep them first.Your only going to get as good as you give with VM.I sanded then primer then sanded more. Its lots of work but for the lower arm piece its sadly the only option we have at the moment. I had a load of hand pistons done too just as spares really.Just finished my Jim Sleeth Foot shells.Kung-Fu shoes on the inside with elastic to hold the shells down at the front.Next to my Moncal feet lined with insole pads for comfort.

Re: Baxterianism's Build thread

Just curious, on the GT parts did you do much sanding on those or mostly leave them as is? I'm thinking of ordering some more in the polished finish instead of the standard (will be nice to have some back-up parts anyways)
