Today's match versus Berriew

Whilst today's performance was not a big improvement on what we've already seen this season, it was nevertheless an improvement and more importantly, it's another three points added to our total.
It was nice to see a new keeper in goal and he did well. He certainly seems to be better than the two previous occupants this season!
The local guys played well, and we deserved the victory.
I don't want to sound cruel but I'm delighted that Rowe has gone and would like to wish the new management duo the very best of luck, although I was surprised to hear that Mel Jones was not at the game today?
I am also encouraged to hear that the club is looking to sign more local based players from now on, which can only be a good thing. Now, all we need is to see at the Oval all those people who have been saying for so many years that they'll start turning up at if we get a team with lots of local players in it. I didn't see many of them at today's match....

Re: Today's match versus Berriew

Just to give my two pennies worth. Mel was working today and starts his new job at CTFC on Monday. Derek is away on hols on Wed and therefore Mel will be in charge for Wed's match at home v Llanfair and on Sat away at Mold (league Cup). I didn't think today was an improvement on our recent performances but we deserved the win nonetheless, as we did against Mold and Lex. David Rowe sent a good luck message to Derek before the game today and a well done message after the match, which shows what the Club meant to him. I will always have time and respect to the guy who had to put up with things behind the scenes, under dificult circumstances and I hope he will catch a match or two at the Oval this season.

I have no doubt that David Rowe did his best for the club, but I remain convinced he was not good enough.
I'm sure he's a decent guy and knows his football but his record at the club was shocking and he should have gone last Christmas. No matter how nice a guy he may be, it doesn't change the fact that he and his players took us down last season.
I'm delighted Mel Jones is now on board and hope that he and Derek can turn things around quickly.

Got to agree with Ben on the performance,it was no different from Mold Alex except that we took our chances! The Lex match would have been stopped had it been boxing! The worst this season was the Pesda match, where we presented them their victory on a plate!
