The sad thing is that they aren't an endangered species. They, much like coyotes or groundhogs are a pest population.
Edit: I feel dirty for claiming coyotes and groundhogs are on the same level as neocon fundies. I would like to apologize to coyotes and groundhogs everywhere.

I can't get the story to load at all and it seems to have been completely pulled from the paper's website.
With the old site, he just nuked the discussion for the story if said comments made the area look bigoted. Apparently now the news never happened...
