I'm looking at evidence of the local governments disregarding the Constitution and basically stating that they will act with impunity to make sure that Christians are favored both in the Council itself and possibly the law.
I don't know why in the merry **** I'd have a problem with that.
Personally, sweetie, I think you need to pull your head out of your ass. You aren't seeing a jackass. You're seeing someone who's rightfully PISSED OFF by the behavior of elected officials.
The only reason you don't see a problem with their actions is because it's *your* religion. I'm quite sure that you'd be less than pleased if they were giving praise to, say, Allah (or any of a number of other deities) to open the council sessions.

I'm not making generalities about Christians. I'm making a statement about people who use political power in order to further their agendas despite the fact that what they're doing is against literally the highest law in the land.
The fact that you don't understand that difference says a hell of a lot about you.
