K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)
Hi. I just signed up. Does anyone here watch Yellow Handkerchief? Fortunately for me, it's subtitled. My wife has been watching it on (non-subtitled) tapes for awhile, then we got a satellite dish and now she's able to watch it on TAN (owned by KCBF - I think that's the designation - in Hawaii), which is on the AMC-4 satellite. I sort of glanced at it a couple of times and then got hooked. It's fascinating! And I'm someone who normally hates soaps! Unfortunately, I think it's nearing the end of its run and there's little or no likelyhood the past episodes will be re-run.

Re: K-Drama: Yellow Handkerchief
Hi Kopros, yes, I’m a bit of a YH fan myself! Too bad it’s nearing the end, but (depending on where you’re watching) it should have another month or two to go.
If you’re watching from Hawaii, remember that Los Angeles is a few weeks ahead of you, so you may see spoilers posted here that you wish you hadn’t seen. Fair warning, that’s all; if you don’t mind a spoiler or two then go for it!
I think Chicago is only a couple of days ahead of Hawaii, so not as many huge spoilers. Have you checked the Chicago YH discussion board? It’s wild and crazy sometimes. The address is: http://deiner.proboards18.com/index.cgi you may wish to give it a try.
You may already know about http://www.kbfd.com, which has a message board with a huge thread for YH. A poster named “Meat Jun” recently provided a summary of all but the earliest episodes.
Finally, another website has summaries of YH from about the last 3 months:

Re: K-Drama: Yellow Handkerchief
We're up to 136 here in S.C., so I think we've got around a month or so to go. KBFD is the station I meant that owns TAN. I started to post on their BB, but I found certain ones there generally unfriendly to newcomers - and rather arrogant. The available tapes (in Korean only) are quite a bit ahead of the satellite broadcasts, so spoilers won't bother me. My wife does get kind of annoyed at my MST3K commentary but I really do love the show. I started a discussion about it on another BB I post on - www.bgb.clarkey.net - ("Take that, lousy American TV"), but no one else gets YH where they live.
My favorite character is Mi-ryung. I think she's absolutely hilarious. She is a complete master of facial expressions. The scene of her looking in the window of a bakery shop, with her eyes bugging out and tongue hanging out was hysterical. Homer himself couldn't have done it better And Lee Tae Ran (Ja-young) is a true world class beauty.

Re: K-Drama: Yellow Handkerchief
I'm not Korean either. But I've found that these smaller BBs tend to be friendlier and I can't imagine anyone being the slightest bit concerned about your race, religion, or any other such thing. People are just people. On my other BB, we have people of different races, religions, ages (from 17 to 50), countries, etc.
The most fascinating thing about YH for me is seeing the clash of changing customs between the older generation, to whom something like a family registry is extremely important (Grandpa) and the younger, to whom it is far less important (or is it?). Ja Yong and Yong Joon seem very agitated over something they have claimed really doesn't matter so much.
Our society is so used to divorce, custody and visitation matters, et al., that it's sometimes difficult to appreciate just how different another culture can be - even though they dress, eat, and generally carry on pretty much like we do (which is sad in itself - the world is becoming so bland anymore). But beneath the surface, it can be very alien to us.

Re: K-Drama: Yellow Handkerchief
We just saw 138 - the honeymoon. So we've got about 6 weeks left. Ah, I wish it would continue, but I suppose a wrap up would be best. And I wish I could get the whole thing on sub-titled tape.

I'm in South Carolina. The episode numbers appear on the screen at the very beginning of each episode. You have to look quick or they're gone.
