Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

HI Nsheldon .

I am starting to wonder if it is going to be just you and me watching this . That is totally fine with me ...but if that turns out to be the case , I am sure that you and I can agree to a schedule that we can both live with .

I am confused , I finished the first disc of YH - and I thought I already saw ep 4 , but the beginning of tonight's episode said ep 4 again at the beginning .Just to keep it straight , in this episode Sang Min insists that he wants to break up with Ja Young . When she is on her way home in the subway she recalls some of their history together .

JY thinks SM has not changed in their years together . I don't agree with her . I think that SM was a lot more animated and demonstrative in the early days , and I would have to say that at the outset of the series SM appears to be distant and detached . Now that his boss MiJoo is interested in him , SM seems to be suffering some remorse in the Kdrama way - drunkenness . But I wonder if he is feeling guilty about his shoddy treatment of JY more than love for her .

To be honest , it is hard for me to tell from the actor .

I think that SunJoo is continuing to get close to TaeYoung ...where that will lead is anyones guess . I think SJ os game for anything that may upset her sister . I don't know where MiRyung is going with any of this , but I find it hard to believe that anyone would take her seriously with her immature behaviour . I can't imagine anyone except her parents would be swayed by her infantile actions .

I watched 1/2 of episode #6 (but will wait a couple days before I finish it). I think Smoochie is almost done with Beautiful Days and then she'll join in.

Jasy: Are you joining us?

Hyena:??????

ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE? emoticon

I'm sorry--I haven't been able to watch anything lately. I'll keep stopping by, though, and maybe this coming weekend, I'll get a chance to watch several episodes.

Hey Folks,
I'm still out here. Just had some company that took up some time. I'll catch up this week-end.

Adwatcher: Good, we have you with us!

Hyena: I hope you get to join us. Since we're only doing about 3 episodes a week (and may have to stall here and there) you should be able to catch up...

I've gone about 1/2 way through episode #6 and will finish it and maybe one more this weekend. I won't move on to #8 until next week..

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

Hi All,

Addie, I'm watching. This is the 3rd viewing for me -the oringal in 2003, and the 2005 reairing in Philly. YH seems like a different show this time as my attitude towards some of the characters has changed.

The first 3 episodes should be called Bombs Away. With so many characters, family groupings are easier to deal with.

The Yoon Family:

Ja-young: Typical Kdrama female lead, "girl-next-door", never
suspects San-min's change of heart, even though he is
cold towards her. Sundry pocketbooks a huge
distraction. LTR's past as a model shines through.

Tae-young: Good guy. Collides into rich girl's world. He a counter-
part to Sang-min, two women vie for him too.

Na-young: Really like her character. Comic relief. Openly loves
           money. Shocking.

The Mother: Beautiful actress. Anybody see her in other
           dramas?
Grandmother: Saw her in another Kdrama after YH. Nothing lately.
           Any news on this actress?

The Lee Family:

Grandfather Lee: Like the character and the actor. Don't mind his
grandstanding, actually enjoy it, something new,
a different role for an elder. Sad to see him
lose Ja-young. He will be more alone.

Sang-min: The immortal Kdrama poster boy for jerks. I give him
slack this time. He seems more conflicted than evil. He
exhibits some decency towards JY's mother. He and
JY grew apart, only she didn't sense this. He was
opportunistic, but Min-joo saw his potential and gave
him a chance. I don't fault him for that.

Now he is put out that people hurt because of his
           duplicity and dawdling.

Back later for other characters. Like the sets, they seem more realistic than other shows.

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

Hi philaD,

The grandmother in this, is one of the workingest actresses in Kdrama. Her name is Kang Boo Ja and right now she's in two dramas on MBC, Good Job and I Love You, Don't Cry. She was recently in Mom's Dead Upset, where she was outstanding. I can name many more. She's a very fine actress. I'm thrilled when I see her in any drama. I'm sorry you missed her.

I agree about Sang Min he is a jerk. A really big jerk. He and his new girlfriend really deserve each other.

I watched this whole drama seven times and its a blur at this point. I will eventually catch up. I still have to finish BD with Jasy, before I can commit to this one.

I'll be back. emoticon

OK, I've started watching it. I'd forgotten how much I hated Sang Min. And how much Mi-rung irritated me!

The actor playing Sang Min, Kim Ho Jin, has turned me off forever to seeing him in other roles. He's that despicable in this. I know its not fair. But.....

Right now he's appearing in Two Wives with Son Tae Yeong. These are two people I never have to watch again, in anything. emoticon

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

I just finished ep 5 . I had fallen behind and will catch up today - with at least 6 and 7 . I am depending on nsheldon to tell us where we should be for the next week emoticon

I will get with the program and stay on it from now on . I had forgotten how much I enjoy the daily drama.

I have to remind myself that with ep 5 , we are only concluding the first week , and sometimes it takes til up to ep 20 or so to really feel "into " it . This show is an exception , however , and I have the advantage , I guess that this is all new to me . I am curious to see what is going to transpire !!

I can see why Miryung is annoying , but at the present moment , I see her as pathetic . She hasn't a clue how to behave with people , and her parents are just as helpless to deal with her . I can't see anything good coming out of her scenario ...

As far Sang Min - my impression is that he is a cold person - even to his new girl friend . I don't know if it is the character or if the actor's range is so limited . I can't imagine why MiJoo is so happy about him . I don't think he had a clue about her til she asked him , and I still would expect the karmic wheel to turn and have him take off on her in the future .

Time can only tell about that .

Back later
