Hi, smoochie! Well, I can watch Kim Ho Jin, I think his acting gets better toward the end, although he's not my favorite. But unless Son Tae Young has changed dramatically, I cannot watch her. I know lots of people like her (icluding Kwon Sang Woo! LOL--she's probably a nice person), but her acting for me is like fingernails on the blackboard.......Still, maybe she's improved, won't write her off yet.

I had not seen the first few episodes of this one, so I can see that Sang min is intrigued by Min joo. But he is cold and he is only thinking about himself. He treats his father with disrespect (I enjoy Joo Hyun whenever I see him, always good) because his father embarrasses him--a father like that is not good when you're climbing the corporate ladder.

Hyena: So glad you're here!

I really do not like Sang Min. You're right Addie... he's not only cruel & cold towards his long time love but he is cold and unfeeling acting towards Min Joo.

I want to think of Min Joo as another victim but she knows he was with another woman and all it was to her was... DUMP HER NOW.... Does her power at work make her not responsible for hurting others?

But then, she may be clinging to Sang Min because she is afraid of taking on the responsibility of stepping into her father's shoes... She seems to rely on him a lot. He's good at his job and he seems to make her job easier. Whatever the reason, Mi Joo wants this man and will let nothing, including him, stand in her way.

I've finished episode #6.

Mi Joo wants to stay living at her step mother's home (or maybe it's just HER home) after she marries because she has no time for cooking/cleaning, etc..

Mi Joo has so much nerve. She goes to visit Sang Min's father. She wants to be accepted by him but she's taking it slow. She has no idea how much Sang Min's father adores Ja Young.

Sun Joo tries to give money to Tae Young but he's not having it. She goes so far as to keep the money she got from Mi Joo and has the family driver sign and make a seal in Tae Young's name. That seemed too easy to me.

Princess 'Sleepyhead' argues again with her parents because she can't stand to listen to them singing. They should tell her to leave the house if she doesn't want to listen. It's THEIR house!!

JY goes out drinking with SM's father and then has to take him home and put him to bed. She goes in SM's room and finds that the frame that once held their picture and it is empty. SM then comes in and is angry she is there. He tells her (OMG I CAN'T STAND THIS GUY)... "Don't sink so low" and "Don't tarnish my memories of you"... He's really ugly... I know they are trying to make him look like he has some guilty feelings but I just don't buy it..

Will start episode #7 early this week...

I finished ep 6 too - so now I know we will do 7-8-9- next week emoticon

It is hard for me to judge the characters yet . I think that MiJoo is very self absorbed - to put it mildly . She wants what she wants without regard to other people's feelings .

A- She wants to marry SM
B- She wants to meet his father and can't and won't wait til SM introduces her .
C- She has decided that after marriage , she and SM will live at the family home .She did not ask her Step mom , and I don't recall that she bothered to discuss it with SM either . I don't think SM will mind moving away from his dad , but surely MiJoo has heard of Merry Maid Services if she doesn't want to do housework after marriage ????

This is going to be a very interesting tale . I still feel sympathetic to SunJoo , and I think Tae Young is falling for her ...

OK,
I saw this once before a year or two ago. With this rewatch, some of my opinions are changing a bit.

The biggest change so far is about Sang-min. As I read PhilaD’s post, the assessment of all the characters is very close to mine. The first time through, I thought Sm was a total jerk, but this time through I’m seeing Ja-Young as dense as she is beautiful. There are soo many signs Sm has changed. She just doesn’t want to see them.
And MinJoo, she’s always up front about her intentions. I’m liking her better this time around.
Mi-Ryung, yes, a real spoiled brat; as is SunJoo, but they're both still young and will grow.
Mi-Ryung parents… a bit over the top, but likeable.

I am home with a summer cold emoticon , and I couldn't wait to go ahead with ep 7 . I read ADwatcher's comments , and I have to agree with some of what he said . I am probably the only person here that hasn't seen this show already , so I don't have preconceived notions about the characters .

I guess you could call Ja Young dense when it comes to Sang Min , but I think it is the fact that she has committed herself to him for the past 9 years . In her mind , they are a couple ....the marriage , engagement or whatever is a formality . I don't think she is dense , but she has been blind . We all see disturbing changes in SM's behaviour , but JY has been overlooking all of it .

I never understood it when in Kdrama one of the partners refused to let go in the event of a break up . But in this case it is a little different . JY did not see this coming , and she simply can not believe it . It is kind of strange that she compares SM to a child with a new toy , and thinks he will soon come back to her .

If they were married , JY would be a prime example of the wife being the last to know .

Sang min is two-timing Ja young. She may not have noticed that he's distant, but they've been together a long time--he should have told Ja young (although it's hard to tell just how long Min joo has wanted Sang min). Now Min Joo just wants what she wants, ignores what anyone else wants (did you notice the way Sang min decided to marry her?? He didn't have much to say about it). She is incredibly selfish, but then so is Sang min. He's just wimpier than she is.

I know I'm prejudiced, because I've seen it before. I hate Sang min, and I love Ja young! But my favorites have not yet appeared.

JY knew SM had gotten a promotion and that his boss (MJ's father) had died. She assumed SM's absence in her life was due to being busy trying to help get things on track. I CAN'T STAND SM!

He's mad at JY because she can't let go. Her refusing to give in to them breaking up is giving him a reason to hate her. He wants her to smile and say all is ok. BUT IT's NOT..

Another reason JY doesn't want to let go is because she's been intimate with him... They have nine years together. She is a good girl and she has very high morals. But this is a man she met in college, fell in love and she trusted completely. She felt that his love for her was the same as hers for him.

There in lies the reason why JY doesn't see how SM has changed . She believes in him unquestioningly because she thinks he is the same as she is .

On second thought , that makes this more of a betrayal .

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

Well I completed #7. Starts off at SM's house when SM caught JY in his room. He is extremely rude to her and told her not to show up again. JY told him it was because his father was drunk and had called her. SM tells her he will tell his father they broke up so he won't be calling her again.

JY tells him she will not break up w/him. He angrily grabs her arm and jerks her around and tells her not to be stupid and a fool. He says, "I have another woman".

JY remembers back when her and SM exchanged love notes. He tells her in his reading that when she walks in the rain he may not have an umbrella to hold over her head but he will walk in the rain beside her... FOREVER. Well we know how long forever is.

SM, back at his place, starts drinking. MJ calls him to say good night and asks if he is going to say he loves her. He does.

SJ and MJ have words together. These sisters are definitely on bad terms with each other. MJ tells SJ she can't drive anymore. Doesn't stop SJ though and later she drives off in her car.

JY and her co-workers go out drinking. I guess this (drinking) is what it took to break JY. When her best friend co-worker drops her off and starts to leave she turns and sees JY drop to the ground in tears.

I really don't like seeing crying with snot running out of their noses. I guess they don't carry tissue or realize they can swipe their arm across their nose..

Anyway, JY finally gets it off her chest by telling her friend about what was going on.

Later the family brings mom home from the hospital and they have a party. Princess Busybody and her mother are there.

SM is guilty but determined to start a new life with MJ. I guess it would be easier on his conscience if JY would send him off with a smile and a "Be Happy" pat on the back. What a total scum bag this guy is.

I'll do episode 8 & 9 on the weekend. Gonna be too busy the rest of this week...
